Still got my CD of that one - if I can find it.
Remember seeing this Kiermyer group (but without Pharoah) at a late night gig circa 1994/5. Good stuff.
Honest Jons? If it is who I think it is, he has sold me some nice vinyl in the past from there. Good stuff - must check out these Tapscott reissues.
I did get to see the Arkestra, sadly it was for Tapscott’s memorial tribute in LA. Memorable..
Tony Inzalaco of course was a regular percussionist with the CBBB and on a whole heap of MPS recordings from the 60s and 70s e.g. Ira Kris ‘Jazzanova’.
Yes, it is a brilliant record. Not only the quality of the improvisations of the two stellar horns but it is clear that Horace did his homework and arranged and rehearsed some very classy charts.
Ha ! Wasn’t even thinking of that. The combination of plastylite vinyl, B3 organ, the Braithophone and my woofers is not for the faint hearted though !
Yes, there is an interesting essay on Mack and his 12-tone experiments on New Directions in the Max Harrison book.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen another copy of the Mack LP over here so must have sold in tiny quantities.
