Yes, noticed that. I’m tempted but it would be a bit of a trek and a half. I have the feeling it will be a great gig. These ashram recordings hold up incredibly well. No wonder the cassettes were so sought after. Totally off my radar at the time though. I remember being in LA back in 1989 I think and seeing a flier on a lamp-post for an Alice Coltrane concert in tribute to John. Must have been that annual memorial concert I guess - sadly, had flown back from my trip by the time it was held. Remember being surprised at the time to see that she was still doing public gigs.

Dusty Groove have a Rearward reissue LP/CD of ‘Out of the Folk Bag’ showing as intended release ‘around Nov 1 2017’, yet Rearward are not listing it. Ironic, as I have just got hold of the 2003 LP German reissue of this one. Anyone know the label/origin of the Studio 2 reissue?

Just picked up a copy of this one but I agree it is brilliant. Much better sonics than expected, Alice’s voice is stunning and the otherworldly sounds of the Oberheim a big plus. Agree also that the booklet is very well done. Great issue !

The British Wing issues tend to be cheapo version of Fontanas. Probably for sale in Woolworths along with MFPs back in the day !

Thanks for that - I have some of this material on compilation and it is damn good. Certainly more cost effective than the previous German issue Doldinger set.
