  1. That's interesting about Marble Arch. Very different to how I remember the area too. York can be a fascinating place - I always enjoy visiting the Jorvik Viking Centre and the underground Roman bit of the Minster is a must-see.
  2. He looks at least 20 years younger than his real age IMO. In good shape !
  3. Francis of Assisi Francis Lee Norbert Stiles
  4. Looks good ! Once upon a time you could clamber on those stones and play cricket using them as false stumps.
  5. Xybert - the Bill Evans Verve doesn't have jewel cases, it is clam shell box with card covers on the CDs. No CD-Rs though !
  6. Thomas Jefferson Eddie Jefferson Filthy McNasty
  7. Curtis Clark William Henderson
  8. The Complete Bill Evans on Verve, Italian Universal reissue of the 1997 ammo box. The packaging and booklet are basic but the 22 bit remastering is superb. I missed this box the first time round - didn't want to pay £300 or catch lockjaw opening the thing up so £27 with an Amazon voucher is pretty good. Really glad to have this one at last !
  9. Jello Biafra Mr Blobby David Cameroon
  10. Happy Birthday Lon !
  11. There was a time when she was omnipresent over here on TV with her 'Suprise Suprise' and 'Blind Date' shows on Saturday night.

  13. I remember attending that week !
  14. Liebman is doing badly! About 50 turned out to see him in Manchester in May. It goes without saying that the music was superb. Disgraceful - the guy is a master musician and a very eloquent speaker about jazz. If it had been nearer, I would have been up there like a shot to see that one..
  15. Little Caesar Caesar Sid Caesar
  16. Thanks for that. I need the Bill Evans Complete Verve Box (sans shrapnel enclosure) and the Miles Bootleg V4 !
  17. 'Pause and Think Again' is a great album. One of the best British contemporary jazz albums of that era. Just had a very pleasant afternoon listening to some early John Taylor on electric piano on John Surman 'Way Back When' and Harry Beckett 'Fall Out'..
  18. He he ! I think it came out about 1966/67 and must have flown off the shelves even then (and was probably served up from under the counter in a brown paper bag). I certainly never heard of it until I heard about that reissue.
  19. $300 would be very good price for a good copy of that LP these days. The cover is an absolute period piece classic !
  20. The Freshman is good in small doses. I wasn't expecting a lot but found that I quite like it !
  21. Trying to dig out that Fresh Sounds box to see what the notes say but I'm afraid to say - I can't find it. Time for a clear out !! I remember that credit to Rumsey in the notes though.
  22. For a minute there, I thought you had posted 'Opportunity' original was offered a mint original once for $1k, but that was then and is now a little more than I'd want to spend on an LP... Bargain ! 99 copies only - and you could only buy it I think in Chris Wellard's shop in New Cross, South London. I remember when that place closed its doors (early 80s). Lived just down the road from there a couple of years later but gone by then.
  23. Ludwig Van Dim Mr Deltoid
