  1. We will be waiting with baited breath by the letter box !
  2. Johnny Fartpants Windy Miller Michael Flatulence
  3. I've always heard it said Kwih-bek. What clinches it is that on a CBC Radio Canada feature on (Ike) Quebec I once heard on the radio, that was the way they pronounced it !
  4. Until the beer gut kicks in !
  5. This whole thread brings up memories of regular listening to an excellent BBC Radio programme called 'Jazz In Britain', where most of these Incus releases were previewed by critic Charles Fox - at the time they came out. They were real obscurities even then.
  6. The 'Jazzhattan Suite' is definitely on the Nelson Mosaic. How about Alonzo Levister 'Manhattan Melodrama'?
  7. Bernie Ecklestone Mini-Me Fat B*stard
  8. That CD stall was great - picked up many a good thing there. Combined with the Bath Ales bar just in front of it you had a winning combination. The only 'downer' about the Pavillion as a venue was the incredible heat and lack of air in there whenever there was a hot day.
  9. Lord Curzon Lord Lucan John Stonehouse
  10. I can feel a spin of the Parlan Mosaic set coming on. Good reminder !
  11. Not a particular fan of Garbarek/Hilliard but that one may just entice me up to the Abbey. There'll be some boogie-ing as they waft the incense... Not a very exciting lineup although I've enjoyed 'Brass Jaw' in the past. I'll probably pass.
  12. Excellent ! I don't need to bother with buying a US military surplus ammo case. Been after this - just the ticket !
  13. Saxophonist Tori Freestone's trio, demoing their new CD release as part of a UK tour. Very nice performance but shamefully poor turnout..
  14. Just about everything on 32 Jazz !
  15. Yet more sad news - always enjoyed his playing. RIP.
  16. Hank Levy John Levy Stan Levey Levi Strauss Levi Leipheimer Lance Armstrong Pinnochio Jimminy Cricket Geppetto
  17. Interesting Sidewinder! More details? It was at one of those Long Beach Festivals - Med Flory was in pretty well most of the groups that long weekend. I remember him in a recreation of Art Pepper + 11, a 'Birth of the Cool' recreation and also in a front line with Conte Candoli (Lighthouse All Stars?). In fact, thinking about it he was a hugely enthusiastic participant (along with Bill Perkins) that weekend. Glad I got to see it ! I have quite a few photos of that event but only on hard copy unfortunately. Med is on quite a few of them.
  18. Mine's pending shipment at HQ awaiting release of the Kirk LP set. Frustrating !
  19. Miles Davis 'Blue Haze' (Esquire mono, RVG)
  20. Only caught Roni Ben-Hur the once (with Bertha Hope and Walter Booker) but it was good !
  21. Hank Levy John Levy Stan Levey
  22. Have a good one !
  23. Was lucky enough to catch him live some years ago. Came across as quite an enthusiastic guy and fine musician, of course. RIP.
