  4. Interesting video clip. They will now switch to digital streaming devices as well as the LP12 turntable: Wonder if this will now trigger an industry trend? Linn Stops CD Player Production
  5. No kidding ! Especially as it looks as if Blair is not going to be El-Presidente too Hm. Have you looked at who they actually pulled out of the bargain bin? Not sure if that was any improvement. Yeah, they may as well have picked one of us. LOL !
  6. Another apology but Very Many Happy Returns Bill !
  7. Must get hold of that !

  9. Another welcome spin for Tubby Hayes/Jack Constanzo 'Costanzo Plus Tubbs' (UK Fontana, mono) then - Jeff Clyne/Ian Carr 'Springboard' (UK Polydor, stereo) in tribute to both artists.
  10. The first tack of 'Decoy' is good. And the track on side 2 of the LP arranged by Gil Evans (the slow blues) is very good too. 'Decoy' is a very up and down album.
  11. 'Star People' you mean?
  12. The 'Sleepthief' should be good. Saw them a while ago in Birmingham. A German/Brit/US combination that works !
  13. So my HMV find was a minor miracle then? Haven't spun too much of it yet myself (just the Clare Fischer) but it's an excellent set, for sure.
  14. Me first ! Katchagoogoo would be good too..
  15. Good idea. I don't think I got beyound disk 2 last time I listened (around the time of the Seige of Mafeking ).
  16. This is very sad news - he always seemed to be in the thick of the action as far as progressive British jazz was concerned and truly bridged the gap between the Tracey/Hayes generation and Stevens/Watts etc. I'll spin that 'Springboard' LP today in recognition of one of the 'Best of British'. RIP First Ian Carr and now, Jeff Clyne passes on. What a truly dreadful couple of years for jazz RIPs from this land.
  17. I'm sure the majority of that particular lineup were with George Coleman's Octet when I saw them in London many years back (Strozier, Moore, Mabern for sure). Maybe recorded same tour? (1980-ish)
  18. I'll wipe the cobwebs and fungi off of mine and give it a spin ! Now spinning Onzy Matthews, CD2
  19. Would you believe the first Dinah Washington went for even more, and it wasn't even mint? Meanwhile someone snatched up that incredible deal for a nearly new Don Pullen set. Total flamin' madness

  21. That is the truth. I started yelling out the window for the neighbors to turn that racket down, until I realized it was me! Worked for Nixon in the White House !
  22. Great actor - and the performance as Howie in 'The Wicker Man' was memorable. Very nice guy too, by all acounts. RIP
  23. Nice to see a copy of 'Love Cry Want' on there for someone who needs to annoy the neighbours big time. Essential ! :rsmile:
