  1. Congrats. Can I call you 'your highness'? I nearly had a seizure late morning when a second-hand Pullen suddenly came up on Amazon US for $50 so I put it in my cart. The seller had no history so emailed to check availability. Got a quick response but it had already gone. Apparently, it had been sold within 10 minutes of him listing it. I've therefore written off the Pullen but fingers crossed on Dex and Brookmeyer.
  2. Max Roach - that one is a fave ! Elmo - I'd be 'tickled' to find a nice copy of that one. Congrats !
  3. Some lovely boxes there - if it was my preferred vinyl I would be in there like a rat up an aqueduct. Somebody should jump on that lovely Shorty Rogers box !
  4. Familiarity and all that - I guess I can relate to the feeling re: Dave Holland's recent stuff, for me his music was more exciting live (however I did find the big band CD had that excitement factor). It will be interesting when I get hold of the Braxton Mosaic box to see how I react to that particular music now. Certainly, the 'Montreux/Berlin' 2LP set with George Lewis was an exciting listen 'back in the day'.
  5. The supplier for the Dexter set hasn't responded (idiots - if you haven't got it, why list it That's Caiman for you) so I've started Plan B with that one too and added an Art Pepper in while I'm at it. Jeez... In the Pullen inflationary environment, that qualifies as a 'Great Find'
  6. Sad news. RIP.
  7. My 'Delightfulee' is a Liberty blue/white stereo LP. Never realised this one was sort of scarce. First time I heard the session was on a French Pathe Marconi DMM LP from about 1985 (which I still have as well).
  8. Just the one limited run I think. Amazing that some of them are still for sale.
  9. No longer, by the look of it..
  10. This one was £5 so if it is still there when I next visit I'll pick it up.
  11. Quite a bit of good jazz on Naim Audio. Charlie Haden, Chris Anderson, Ted Sirota's Rebel Souls. Usually very well recorded too - as you would expect from these guys.
  12. Bob Rae Ralph Klein Don Mazankowski
  13. Good luck and all the best !
  14. I got this Italian reissue quite recently along with an Argo original edition of Breakthrough . Both are very exciting dates and highly recommended. It's a wonder that they're not better known. The Italian edition of Debut In Blues has some slight speed instability ( sound occasionally a little wobbly). Anyone know if that's present on the original ? Most Argo LPs I've come across are defective in some way. Generally poor pressings. I have a mono original of Debut in Blues that sounds fine and an '80s reissue on Chess that is poor in pressing and sound. Perhaps the latter is the source of the Italian reissue? I saw a copy of that very Italian reissue LP in a bin a while ago. Thanks for clarifyine re: sound quality (needle drop?)
  15. Grrrrrrrrr Glad I bought that one when it came out. Good luck - will keep my eyes peeled for a copy and let you know if I see 'an opening'.
  16. My first 'port of call' just cancelled on this one but I have supplier plan B who should be more reliable (or else I'm stuffed ). I wonder what Bob Brookmeyer thinks of all this? Forget 'Tulip Bulb Futures'. It's 'Brookmeyer Mosaic Futures' where the action is.

  18. Mine's shown as 'completed', so I guess it must be shipping !
  19. Sir Bobby Robson Don Revie Sir Alf
  20. He's playing Ronnie Scotts in a couple of days time. With Julia Tippetts and 'Nostalgia 77' !
  21. Very sad news - and shocking for those of us that remember him in the 80s. RIP Mr Swayze.
  22. I sense the understated euphoria. :rsmile: No word on mine yet (other than the Lou Donaldson, which is shipping from the land of Signor Berlusconi) but the moment I hear that Brookmeyer and Dex are on their way there will be champagne corks popping chez moi..
  23. That one will be on Mosaic Contemporary
  24. Hope it's good !
