I find that a clean on the VPI helps in this respect. I know what you mean though. The early mono PJs are fine though in this regard. Not like those rubbish World Pacific 'fold-down' monos.

What Naim stuff are you getting, if it's not a secret? I had their CD5i player, and found it unsuitable for classic jazz reissues. I do indeed have the 5i (starter level ) but I'm not sure what you mean by 'unsuitable'. Does it not read the discs or is there another sonic problem? Or are you referring to the Classics label? The Naim CD players definitely benefit big-time by adding the XPS/XPS-II Power Supply Units, with their whopping big interconnect for all those separate supply circuits and (wanabee aerospace/MIL-SPEC) multipin Brundy connectors.

I like this stuff! One of the things I learnt on my first trip to Southern Ireland a few years ago was to resist the urge to order Guiness on draft at the pubs and go for this stuff instead.

Stereo? After the mono thread and the classical forum thread I wish propose two different thread: 1 ) What mono vinyl are you spinning right now?? 2) What stereo vinyl are you spinning right now?? And 3) What quadraphonic vinyl are you spinning right now?

I have some of the earlier ones in mono original pressings - the 'Moment of Truth' and 'Portraits', for example. Don't think I've ever seen any of the World Pacifics in mono though. I usually listen to this session on the Mosaic set but I think I prefer the sound of the LP. The cover design of the 'Everywhere' is a classic !

The VPI will do the trick. I've cleaned LPs with significant mold growth on this machine with good results. Good luck !

I remember seeing the 'Montenegro' film on UK TV also, way back, but don't recall a gorilla woman on it ! Worth checking though. Why was the TV here so much more worth checking out for interesting stuff back then, on only the 4 channels - and now its all 'reality' shows, property buying crap, chef shows, lack-of-talent shows with Ozzy Osborne's Mrs and third rate footballer-wives type 'drama'. The nation has turned into a bunch of idiots.

Bjork is very famous for her 'fashion' sense, and like her music to some it is a little 'off-the wall'. Che. Got me sweating there for a minute, until I realised that this was posted in 2005 !
