  1. I'm not that keen on the Nelson set myself considering the material on it that I do know and my waning enthusiasm for that stuff. I'm not complaining about the Mosaic direction though; I like what they've been producing and I'm looking forward to their future choices.
  2. Pete is selling some excellent discs here! The Charlie Parker and the Private Dukes are highly recommended, especially at these prices! (That really goes for all of these).
  3. Right, I've read an interview with the engineer of the XRCD series from JVC who said he would not let a signal go near a Sonic Solutions deck---he said it immediately took on a "digital" character he was trying at all costs to avoid. I think there may be something to this. . . . I prefer the sound of the RVG (I haven't heard the Mosaic Select version).
  4. I really like old Wurlitzers too. . . .They're very fun to play and when you get them going they can really growl. I like the action. I've got a digital Yamaha piano that has a nice feel to it and has a fw good electric piano sounds; I like playing this for the Rhodes (a little too sweet) and Wurly sounds (the Wurly is pretty good). I think Zawinul is a great electric pianist. . . his early stuff is really strong. And I agree about Light as a Feather. Fantastic.
  5. I've got the first two sets and love them! If you order all three you'll save almost enough dollars to get the Muddy Waters set. That's one you don't want to miss!
  6. Yes, there are some hilarious lines AND situations on that show! My favorite episode so far is where he is trying to make good with the woman who he faked being DEAD to get away from. . . .
  7. I think they figure the earliest WR doesn't sell as well as later, and that we fanatics have all transferred our lps to cdr and/or bought the European two cd release. I have done both.
  8. I was sleeping (literally) on this thread. Sade! Thanks! I'm always glad to reminded of Ms. Adu.
  9. Anyone enjoy "My Name is Earl?" I've been having fun with that one. Karma!
  10. Yes, I threw on mine too. "She's a Carioca." Forgot how cool this stuff was!
  11. I actually like Grounded for Life (well, being married to an Irish ex-Catholic really helps) and I do think it was on for four seasons at the least. Arrested Development is pretty good though to be honest it flies a little too often over the top for me and I can't watch too much of it at a sitting. . . .
  12. THAT I don't have the answer to. I wouldn't be surprised to see Andoran companies trot something out.
  13. Man. . . It seems odd that they're including so little of the unreleased and so much of the same old tunes. . . . I'll get it if I get really flush in the next months, or if I get lucky and get it as a present. . . . But I'm mostly interested in the unreleased stuff and it's a big expense for a small part of the set! When this band was really "on" it was something else!
  14. I think the answer is "No" RT.
  15. These and the Prestige twofers. .. wow. . . great series that introduced me to many great albums! I still remember being FLOORED by the Lateefs!
  16. If they had put it on the FRONT cover this would be the best selling Waters cd ever!
  17. I think it's bullshit too. My wife was born in June, and she has January illnesses!
  18. This set looks even better to me than it did before via the discography. It will take me a while to finance it, but I'm going to hear this set and I bet I dig it.
  19. I'd like to see that. I've even already suggested to them a candidate: the unreleased Sunny Murray material on Columbia.
  20. Greatest big band tune ever written? Es loco! I agree with Jack all the way. . . well maybe. I'm a little more torn between the two versions he sites, but do lean to the concert version.

Nice find. Thanks for posting that. I'm going to find someone to help me out on this one!
  22. Mine too!
  23. Well, I did splurge for express mail. . . haven't seen my set yet!
  24. Can't even imagine hating cats! That's all I'll say.
  25. Lon! I had no idea that you were round with a hole in the middle! ← Well, I am an "innie" not an "outie". . .
