  1. My last order was for the book to the complete Kryzstof Komeda box set (with a cd of Astigmatic included, great deal) and for Jobim's Wave on A&M (kept holding off for a remaster but decided not to; turns out the early digital cd was remastered and mastered by RVG and sounds great!)
  2. My card was charged on the 10th. . . there's hope for me!
  3. I haven't heard the New Talent cd, but I like the Columbias. . . . Here's one thead: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...hl=the+bad+plus
  4. The Ayler box set has a long track from this group with Ayler added in to the mix that is well worth hearing!

    Feb 15 RVGs

Personally, I'm with Jim Dye. This is BULLSHIT if from the reissue program itself orf the parent company. I never would have expected that from this reissue program. UNBELIEVABLE. I really don't personally believe this came from the artist. I smell smoke. Doesn't matter to me as far as the material goes. . . I have th JRVG! B-)

Bertrand: The Clark SACD is a hybrid; playbable on regular cd players. Aric: There were Time cds put out by Bainbridge in the eighties, by Pony Canyon in the nineties or early in this century, and a few titles put out by Audio Fidelity as hybrid SACDs, and it appears also that somewhere in there Fresh Sounds released cds.

IN fact, I think there were more alternates on the Sonny Clark SACD than on the Japanese Pony Canyon reissue cd. . . !

  11. Rachel, thanks! All: Have a wonderful day, hope there's lots of loving going on!
  12. Alon: I have been enjoying this album for some time! It used to be my favorite work of hers, but the latest one (Concert in the Garden) has taken that place. Wonderful music!
  13. Very cool lp. Dusty has often a sortof cheap Italian cd that does it justice (6 or 7 bucks when in stock).

    Don Byas

Happy Valentine's Day M. Byas! I really dig listening the most to the quartet with Mary Lou, the two JIP releases and the Cannonball produced Columbia. . . . BUT I like all the stuff I've heard! Especially interesting is how he was featured with the Coleman Hawkins Orchestra and how much Hawk dug his playing and having him there!
  15. www.yourmusic.com has it too. . . I haven't tried it out. I'm still working my way UP with OP. I have begun to appreciate his fifties and sixties work more than ever. . . one of these days I'll get to the Telarcs!
  16. I bought the Janos Starker recordings on Mercury Living Presence years ago and have never felt the need for another version. . . .
  17. No Mosaic set though come tuh think of it. . . I just noticed what forum this is in. Chuck's right though, we tqalk about him. We even had a long thread about one album not on cd recently.
  18. Lifetime Achievement Awards to Pinetop Perkins and Art Blakey! Best looking musical performer Alicia Keyes. . .
  19. Oh, it's worthy, it's very worthy.
  20. CRAZY EYES LONSON SMOOTH IF YOU MUST KNOW. . . .
  21. Very cool photo that I've enjoyed as well Brownian! I guess with the microphones with that on stage shot, medj. . . they doin't seem odd to me. I mean that one IS on a very tall stand and I guess it seems natural to me the photographed perspective vis a vis mike and musician height. . . Anyway, cool photo! I can almost HEAR it.
  22. Yes, thanks to a board member here I have that too, and I enjoy parts of it very much. . . . I wish there were more!
  23. This has been a favorite ever since I first viewed it on a Larry Ridley photo page. . . .
  24. Honest to Gorsh Jim, I think this entire board is in so many ways all of us rambling about stuff we're not qualified to talk about, even the most qualified of us, in a metaphysical sort of way or plain mundane way. . . I don't know what I'm talking about I'm rambling. One of my very favorite Monk photos:
