  1. Yes, that happens to me. Aggravated by the Westlake post office, which is the worst I ever remember being associated with. And especially galling as I have so little time to listen and get overwhelming chunks. I could stop. Yeah right. Bev, downloading is not at all the same for me. Just totally unappetizing.
  2. I sure don't listen to it often. Difficult going.
  3. Have a great one Alan!
  4. Have a wonderful one John!
  5. Many happyhappy returns!
  6. Okay. Those are probably rather hard to find these days. . . were on cd in the early nineties, not sure how long they stayed in print. Good music!
  7. I haven't really studied the lists of those, haven't seen any Wilens for example. I did notice that Pike's Peak has come out, that hasn't been on cd for a long time.
  8. I guess I'm committed. Or should be. Last week I pre-ordered Vol. 3 and the Mono box in Blu-spec 2. The five Blu-spec 2 titles I do have sound amazing.
  9. I haven't heard all the Most, but those I have heard I really like. This is the "least listened" of the McGhees on Bethlehem that I have. But it's worth a listen.
  10. Odyssey of Isaka has been released as an SHM-CD and it sounds quite nice.
  11. Many happy happy returns!
  12. Many more happy returns Sandy!
  13. Wow. Made a big fat cdjapan order. Thanks.
  14. You're wlecome. Part of the length of air mail may be that the Westlake Post Office is involved. That is the daftest post office I've ever known! I had excellent service in Austin in comparison.
  15. You can save about 30 percent or more using the Air Mail as opposed the FedEx option. There's quite a difference in delivery time, Air Mail taking 10 to 14 days or so usually (in my experience) and FedEx taking about three days.
  16. I've been experimenting with phase inversion on these titles as it's easy for me to do, the touch of a button on the remote to my DAC (PS Audio Perfectwave DAC Mark II). I find this can make a difference with some releases, especially Japanese. For example the John Patton "That Certain Feeling" sounds "better" to me with phase inverted. Jimmy Ponder is monstrous on this one.
  17. The Davis and Rollins two cd set from Concords sounds very nice (24 bit).
  18. I think both Laton and Erwin can be right. Those titles are still available from some sources. But cdjapan may have depleted their initial stock, be trying to reorder more for stock and to fill orders, and finding that the well has run dry from Universal.
  19. Oh yes, read those over twenty years ago. I liked 'em.
  20. Yes, I'm curious about the sound, I am wanting to enhance the experience of these albums, I do listen to the Blue Note and Prestige Monk sides often and some versions are better than others, but even listening to two different versions can be "enhancing" in its way. As for other titles, I think I may go for the Melle and Charles dates. These are great sessions.
  21. I have decided to try these titles, I have the Monk and a few others on the way to me. Why am I buying these over again? Not sure, but it is sort of fun.
  22. Hans, sorry I was not being patronizing and was doing nothing other than trying to note that though the SNE is one of the more aggressive of the new ones, they all share that sort of "character." Sounded to me that you didn't really like that, I know your preferences from postings here and on Hoffman, and I was simply trying to express that I think you would not like the series. I apologize, honestly I think you're being overly sensitive.
  23. Although I do think that one is a bit more aggressive sounding than some of the others, with your system and preferences you probably won't be happy with the others.
  24. Enjoy it Joe!
