  1. A number of these have been out on Membran. While I agree that is hardly a proper reissue, it might be enough to scare Mosaic away. Between Columbia and other sources all the Rushing have been out as well. Might scare Mosaic away.

  3. Many many happy happy returns Niko!
  4. Hope you have a great one my friend, and many many happy happy returns!
  5. The sequel to "An Evil Spirit from the West," which I really enjoyed.
  6. Can't help you there my friend. That's a Ra period I avoid for the most part. I'm looking forward to the next Transparency release, a box set of "early" stuff. Should be pretty wild.
  7. Hey don't forget the 50 cents for artwork, and whatever licensing dollars for the material. I'd say go for the Storyville version if you can find it standalone, or in the Ellington Storyville box set, and can afford those. The sound on both is a little different, but in my opinion either is better than other cd releases. I just looked and it's the Storyville that is offered on cdr. If you have no issues with cdr I'd go for that at the price. Just my two cents.
  8. I love "A Love Supreme" on this. No I mean "Un Croque Monsieur." (Love those too). An itunes version of this very Japanese mastering used to be available, probably still is.
  9. Well sorry to hear that bout the numbness. . . be mindful of it (though I admit I don't think it's in any way bike related). That happened to my Dad recently and has been recurring; he's being told it may be a series of mini-strokes that don't leave lasting damage and they don't know much about it but it can't be good. . . . Sorry to hear that about your wife as well. I've proven to myself more than once that I can't stop riding. I quit for my wife, and I missed riding so much that I quit driving cars, because every time I was in a car I'd rather have been on a bike. I've wrecked twice (neither time my fault) and climbed back on as soon as I could. Until I have some sort of physical ailment preventing me, I'm going to be on two wheels. I love my current bike so much I think I'll have it another half a decade or more. For some time I thought I'd really want a touring bike, but two months on a rented Street Glide cured me of that; I wanted back on my Fat Bob so bad it was not funny! The touring bike was just too smooth and ultimately boring. Th shop told me "Man you're going to love having the stereo." I turned it on once, that's it. There's idiots out there, always have been, always will be. I won't let myself be afraid. I was actually hurt worse in a car accident than I have ever been on a motorcycle, and if that turns out to not be the case in the future, well, I am trying hard in my life to not let fear rule me. Fear has held me back from far too much. All kinds of fear from fear of being too exposed, to fear of being an asshole, fear of disappointing others, to fear of putting myself on the line for someone. It has to stop. It's already getting hot here and I put a lot of my jackets "away". . . I miss them. I think I like the winter because of the gear, it's like a sign of bravery and armor against the world.
  10. Well, it's a new season for many on the horizon. I'm so glad to have my bike back after a big "not at fault" accident. 11,000 dollars damage to the bike, repaired with a new frame and rear end. Actually seems better than new as this was all done by one master mechanic, and not on an assembly line, sort of feels like the one "Custom Vehicle Operations" Harley I rode (which was assembled by one person). Nearly 25,000 miles on the bike now. I'm looking forward to a trip or two to Ohio and back (though not the reason for the trip, as my Mom will be having radiation for breast cancer and I think I'm going to be needed to help my Dad). It's been a crappy year for me for a number of reasons but I'm hoping that it will get better soon, and more traveling on the bike will help. Ride safely mes copains! Oh just a correction to the the above post: there was visible bruising; I just couldn't see it until pointed out by my girlfriend and a mirror. Pretty badly bruised at the base of the spine, probably by the back portion of my seat. Said raised back portion probably kept me from being thrown back against the pickup truck so I'm not complaining. God bless Corbin, a bit of hammering on the rear bracket that fastens the bike to the rear fender and the seat bolted right back on, undamaged. Took twelve weeks to get my bike back, and about nine of it was just the other guy's insurance company's ineptness, they dickered about the estimate and in the end agreed to the estimate handed to them nine weeks earlier.
  11. That's when my financial situation started to get out of hand. . . .
  12. Hey hype is how many of us get laid, and the race continues. Mom Clem is full of hype for HIS opinions. A salt shaker is always a handy implement. When the mood strikes Dixon and so many others, all the stuff of music really, can be like Goldilock's porridge. And that's damned fine stuff. Especially with some salt.
  13. I think lately he's been using one I loaned to him to try, an Audioquest 1/8" to dual RCA cable.
  14. I pretty much agree with both Joe and Jim. Though the real game is mumbly peg.
  15. Hmmm. . . Dark Magus is the one that I find less and less enjoyable each time I revisit. In a perfect world Sony would put out a box set of all the Japanese appearances, complete, of this band. Ah well.
  16. Just as an FYI, Mosaic has in the past (and may still? Dunno) offered sets (that end up looking like "promos" to members of the industry such as djs etc. at half price. Nothing "inappropriate" about those, they're bought and paid for.
  17. Yup. Not to mention some in the series have been Fresh Sounds. I bought a few "again" because. . . well the sound on this series just really shines for me, on my system at least. I've never heard Jazz Guitar and Cu-Bop and Blows on Beacon Hill and Byrd's Eye View for example sound so great, so I ordered At the Five Spot because it's one of my favorite recordings, listen to it often enough to warrant it. I'm hoping they continue to release great titles like these. Who says cd is dead?
  18. This is a wonderful box set. I love the material from Filles De Kilamanjaro and Water Babies included here, and always have since the first times I heard the material in the 'seventies. It's very interesting to have the component pieces of In A Silent way this way (and the surrounding material) but I confess. . . I LOVE the Macero edited tapestry and still prefer to listen to that. It's just such a musical event, a doorway, a historical document for the ages. The Miles solo on "It's About that Time" remains a sentimental favorite. Every wonderfully chosen note placed just so.
  19. This series is making me buy Japanese EMI cds again for the first time in years. Not sure whether or is appropriate.
  20. Right, if you follow the thread down you'll see that I have purchased this cd (though mine was a European pressing). Wish they'd put it out on US, expanded, cd.
  21. Just get it. So glad this is out. Latin Kaleidoscope too, I have it on the same one Flurin mentions, but I bought this new one too. Gotta support these reissues!
  22. Re-watching Sons of Anarchy Season 2.
  23. And many many more happy ones!
  24. It worked for Norah Jones, I think that's what's meant. I wouldn't be surprised if she contributes.
