  1. Yes - I know what it SEZ! But it can't mean that, if they simply stop manufacturing when the license runs out. I just got mine and it's 1919. I see FFA's was 1915. Out of 10,000. So, they've sold 1,900 in five years and they're going to run out in less than four months? Pull the other one, MC. If the real answer is, "the license is gonna run out in four months", or whatever, why not say so? We won't mind. MG Here's a bit of what I have heard and believe is true. What happens is they press a certain amount of each set as a batch, as much as they can store on site. It may be 500 or so I don't know the specifics. They probably press more in a first batch when it's new and fewer later as the intiial sales slow. So if the lease runs out, they may have printed their fourth batch of 500 or so. . . and on the rack there may be 200 sets left. . . So they're not able to or decide not to press another batch and they look at 200 sets and say "this may last two to four months." And then they put it as "Running Low." Now I think in the past they have been surprised that by putting a set in running low status has meant lots of orders and they run out really quickly. I think they've adjusted their expected sales rates accordingly in the last few years.
  2. Yeah, me too. As suggested by Dan: SPOILER ALERT! I liked the movie more than FFA and Shawn. I was not at all confused in any way. I thought the movie could have been improved with some scenes of Will and Charlize in the thousands of years of the past. . . little vignette moments of them as gods and hero/heroines in the past. That would have underlined the storyline nicely. Overall I thought it was very entertaining. But then again it was the first movie outing with a new girlfriend and very fun on that level. . . .
  3. Allen, From the mosaic website: Last Chance on Limited Edtion Sets The "Running Low" category represents our estimate that the sets will be sold out in the next one to four months. "Last Chance" reflects our best estimate that the set will be sold out anywhere from today to two months. Please understand these are merely our best estimates and that circumstances can sometimes change quickly.
  4. I think you're guess is right. I bought one as a gift three weeks ago or so and it was numbered in the mid 1800s.
  5. Many many more happy ones!
  6. Hope you both enjoy your birthday nights, and many more awesome returns!
  7. I wouldn't count any chickens til they hatch out of a Nessa post.
  8. Ruta Maya medium roast, dripped via a #2 filter, with a bit of whipping cream.

    Kenny Burrell

Okay, we all understand Brian's position clearly now. Perhaps even more clearly in this new more conventional less uber hip style of his. Soul Call is a really good one, in my opinion. Kenny has the most beautiful tone, warm, full, consistent top to bottom, and fluid supple lines. What a player!
  10. In at least 3 different cities I've lived in - in the NE and SE - Kingston Trio records are/were available everywhere for 25 cents an armload. Okay, I find that very hard to believe, but it's no skin off my butt.
  11. That may be a huge exaggeration or it may be just a regional thing. I've never seen more than two of their lps in thrft stores here in Austin over the last twenty-eight years, and I have been known to frequent many and always look through the lp bins.
  12. I've never encountered anyone who didn't gain some weight when they quit smoking. Nicotine is a stimulant as James mentions, and your metabolism is increased if you smoke probably more than half a pack a day. (I smoked two packs a day for a long time). I gained weight, but all the women who love me were happy because I was too thin from birth til 35.
  13. Johnny Smith, disc 3 I was going to put on the Eldridge as it's been discussed here lately, but I saw the Smith and that beautiful guitar sound just went off in my head and I had to play it.
  14. Happy birthday to l'artiste!
  15. 13 out of 20. How did I not know Oh Henry?
  16. Hey, congrats (to you both). I quit eighteen years ago next week and it's one of the handful of things I've done that I'm proudest of. James, keep the strong will to quit. I quit cold turkey after eighteen years of smoking and it was that will to quit that got me through. I was damned determined to stop!
  17. The live version of Sade's "Jezebel" from the DVD. It's very cool and it had a magical effect on someone else.
  18. Many many more happy ones!
  19. Monday's new one "Nexus" is available now. . . at least it was mailed to subscribers. Quite nice!
  20. I have that same package, 90. I have been selecting albums featuring Ellington, Monk or Mingus in the titles (by others). Mostly pays off in dividends.
  21. Many more happy ones Peter!
  22. The Complete RCA and Columbia Recordings of Una Mae Carlisle. I asked. . .not going to happen (that's not what I was exactly told, but if you read between the lines. . .) It would have been a great booklet!
