  1. Up...........reduced $10. Will go on ebay if no one's interested. Thanks for looking ...
  2. Sor-reeeeeeeee!!
  3. Is there any reason to get satellite other than for use in the car? I know that most of those specific shows aren't available, but there's no shortage of free internet-based radio. I don't drive enough to make it worth installing in my car.
  4. I'm afraid you ARE the only person left, Dolan!
  5. Exactly. Also Dave liked him, so he made a good foil during the show. I don't have a problem with Shaffer - he is a good leader (also runs the house band at the annual R&R HoF) and well-suited for a talk show band.
  6. You can see the air pollution! I don't think it's pollution. I took this out of the airline window, which accounts for the cloudiness. The weather was great, actually.
  7. Amazon has this available for pre-order right now at $39.99.
  8. MD4-218 This CD set has only been played a few times. It's in pristine condition and has been in a smoke-free environment. There's nothing wrong with it, but I realized that this music is just not for me. I would rather sell this to someone here before I put it on ebay. $60 - free shipping to the US, cost shipping out of the US. PayPal preferred. PM me if interested.
  9. This is an interesting looking turntable. FATHER AND SON TEAM CREATES GORGEOUS TURNTABLES FROM THE CROSS-SECTION OF TREES
  10. Yes, keeping the horizon line straight can be a challenge. And you do get some odd effects when there is movement in the scene, like the animal and the girls in the left side of this S. Kensington shot.
  11. Nice! I'm constantly amazed at how well (and easily) the iPhone shoots Pano shots.
  12. Saw that in London last Fall - it was VERY good!
  13. Whitehall on Wednesday, waiting for the Queen's procession to open Parliament.
  14. Wow - I got these on StubHub and they were cheaper than that!
  15. NPR had a piece about DeJohnette and the album/reunion this morning. For Jack DeJohnette, A Chicago Homecoming Brought A Reunion With Old Friends
  16. Would definitely be interesting to see the reconstituted Fotheringay. I hope they bring it stateside.
  17. Yep - loved both Fotheringay albums and I don't have either on on CD, so this will be a must-have for me. Really looking forward to the live stuff, too. Thanks for overview, Bev.
  18. Saw Eric at the Royal Albert Hall last Saturday and he didn't disappoint. I was concerned because I know that many of his shows over the past several years have been known to be lackluster and inconsistent. This show had a minimum of clunkers and more highlights that I could have expected. The strongest piece came totally out of the blue - "I Shot the Sheriff". Never one of my favorites, but he and the band really nailed it. I'm sure that playing at the RAH had something to do with the energy, as well. I've read that it's his favorite venue.
  19. Haven't heard this yet, but I'm sure it's worth getting: NOTHING MORE: THE COLLECTED FOTHERINGAY
  20. Just got back from London. Saw both the Diebenkorn and Delaunay shows as well as a great Sargent exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery that we were lucky to catch just before it ended. All were excellent, and highlights of the trip. Sargent: Portraits of Artists and Friends
  21. Trader Joe's has a good organic unsweetened soy milk. I suspect it might be made by the same people who make Whole Foods' version because they taste the same to me.
  22. Saw Michael Tilson Thomas 'conduct' "Renga" tonight. Very interesting and entertaining, including narration throughout by Tim Robbins of the "Lecture on Nothing". Pretty hard to explain the structure of this piece, but there were musicians spread beyond the stage into the seating areas and there was a multi-media component consisting of 50s-era film clips and commercials. A featured performer was someone playing "amplified cactus" (which sounded great, btw). An in-depth description can be found in the program notes here: CAGE: Renga
  23. I've been thinking about getting the George Adams and Don Pullen boxes - so maybe it's time.
