Amazon US now has pre-order on this for $41.44.
I went ahead and placed it. If it comes further down before release they will give you the lower price, too.
Congrats on the new acquisition, Lon! Looks like you got a real winner! Sometimes it's worth it to pay up for something you know will improve your joy of playing.
I was surprised at the prices of his guitars - MUCH more reasonably priced than I would have guessed considering the workmanship that obviously goes into each one.
Same here. I don't change strings as often as I should, but am always amazed how much better the guitar sounds after I do.
... maybe I'll do that TODAY!
I picked up the 'stereo' box of UK releases a few years ago, and that's more than enough for me. I grew up listening to the American versions ("Rubber Soul" might have been my first record), but with one exception I'm not desperate to hear those versions again.
I DO want to get the US version of "Help." The incidental music was an integral part of the album for me, and I probably haven't heard that stuff in about 40 years.
I have a friend who's a Beatles collector, so anything I need to know or hear I can get from him. He buys EVERYthing!
Charles was the opening act at the first jazz concert I ever went to - 11/20/71 at UC Santa Barbara.
The headliner was Freddie Hubbard w/Junior Cook, Geo Cables, Alex Blake, Lenny White
I don't know who was in his band at the time, but it was a little before "Waves" was released.
O'Reilly was actually good - shocking, huh?
I thought the whole performance was good, too. They covered a lot of ground on a short period of time. Of course seeing Chick, Dave, Jack, Terrence and Wayne together was awesome.
