  1. AAAAdAAAGGGGGiGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGcGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGkGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [have a great one]
  2. What? No PT, Blackfield, SW solo stuff???
  3. Big line at Amoeba today, too. I picked up some Lucinda Williams among other stuff.
  4. Which album cover thread? There are about a hundred of them, aren't there?
  5. That's a good one, too.
  6. Definitely a fun album. I'll "third" the endorsement!
  7. OK.........I'm intrigued.
  8. Great show last night, but it turned out to be only the Baseball Project although they did some tunes by the related bands (including 3 Dream Syndicate songs). How was Watt? Watt was fantastic! He has a great new album out right now called "The Hyphenated-Man" and he and his band performed it in its entirety. Then he did 4 or 5 Minutemen tunes for an encore. If you liked the Minutemen, you will love this tour/album. Great! I got the new album, but haven't listened to it yet. Sounds like a show WELL worth seeing. Looks like he's going to be here in SF on 4/29.
  9. I picked it up a couple of months ago. Agree with this analysis.

  11. Tonight at Slim's: The Baseball Project, Minus 5, and Steve Wynn & the Miracle 3 (basically all the same band but with minor personnel changes). Saw all these groups a couple of weeks ago in Austin - fun show!
  12. NY Times: The Cloud That Rains Music
  13. I've tried it. It seems to work fine. The only problem is the time it takes to upload your MP3s. It's not fast, even with cable. OTOH, whenever you buy MP3s from Amazon, a copy will automatically be put into your "cloud drive".
  14. Looks interesting. I'll have to read that.
  15. Unfortunately, I find much of Jeff Beck's recent meanderings to be quite sleepy. When he breaks out of the ethereal spaciness he can still rock with the best of them, though.
  16. Looks like the same drummer that was with Beck, too.
  17. I don't think she's with him anymore, though.
  18. Nice! Looking forward to it.
  19. I picked that up when it came out. Rock solid band there, for sure. I think that came out at a time when Tony wasn't very active, so it was a treat to hear him on any album.
  20. In Austin until Sunday - LOTS of music.
  21. I had no idea "Kid Charlemagne" was about him.
  22. A small fortune then, 'back in the day' ! That's what I was thinking! Looking again, I see the album was produced in 1979, so it's after the great 1970s inflation. Ten years earlier, it would have been a king's ransom! Kind of like the Mosaic box!
  23. I have it in the Mosaic box, which I admit I haven't spent enough time with. Will check this one out, though.
  24. Great show tonight - great crowd, too. While they "do" Stevie Wonder tunes, they're far from covers. Each musician re-arranges their choice of tune, and in all cases do very creative interpretations. If they come anywhere near your town - go see them. It's a treat. Being a member of SF Jazz, we got to go to a listening "party" with Miguel Zenon a few weeks ago. It's was a discussion where he walked us through all the songs that the Collective were going to play and discussed the various merits of each one. Great insight in advance of seeing the show.
  25. Tomorrow night - SF Jazz Collective. This year's theme is the music of Stevie Wonder.
