  7. That's a deal. I think it used to be about twice that much.
  8. Right........I saw Susan performing in Austin a couple of years ago. She was good. Continental Drifters track, featuring Cowsill and ex-Bangles Vicki Peterson, and they also co-wrote it. Cowsill takes the vocal on the second verse. Group also includes ex-DB's Peter Holsapple (he and Cowsill were married), and ex-Dream Syndicate Mark Walton along with other very talented New Orleans musicians. The failure of this group to achieve popularity in the 90's shows how far gone the pop music industry is. Realize that this drifts continents away fro the Sunshine Pop string, but it shows what adorable little Susan Cowsill grew up into. Great tune! I never heard of this group - the individuals, yes - but not the group. Sounds Bangle-ish, but better. FWIW, the Bangles ARE back together and touring.
  9. Right........I saw Susan performing in Austin a couple of years ago. She was good.
  10. Going to see something tonight that FreeForAll will appreciate. SFJazz members event: Robin Eubanks Listening Party The Trombone In Jazz History Robin Eubanks has achieved a triple-crown reputation as a master performer (trombonist for the SFJAZZ Collective, Dave Holland), arranger (McCoy Tyner Big Band, Mingus Big Band) and educator. Robin will be playing recordings and sharing his insights on some of the legends of the trombone, including Kid Ory, J.J. Johnson, Slide Hampton, and Curtis Fuller.

  14. Just saw Lydia Loveless. Little girl with a BIG voice.
  15. I'm still waiting for someone to find some previously unknown Miles/Jimi jams.
  16. the fact is, unfortunately, that Bobby is quite frail but i'm SO glad that he got out to hear his buddies play all that good music. i'm hearing the same group here in L.A. tomorrow night. That's what I thought. I know he got to spend some time backstage which must have been fun for him. Enjoy the show! Nothing groundbreaking, but the music is top-shelf.
  17. Saw Bobby tonight in attendance at an SFJazz event: Javon Jackson, Mulgrew Miller, Jimmy Cobb, Nat Reeves. He was looking quite frail. I don't know if he was just having a bad night or what.
  18. Friday night: Javon Jackson tenor saxophone Mulgrew Miller piano Nat Reeves bass Jimmy Cobb drums
  19. I downloaded it to my eyeFone, but couldn't get it to work. I kept getting an error message.
  20. , Lon. Watched some of the Pearl Jam/American Masters show on PBS last night. Expected to like it, but too much navel-gazing and too long. Couldn't watch the whole thing.
