Still love the Harlem Bush Music albums from the 70s.

Just discovered this obscure Australian band. It's their only album (from 2018), but really good.

Saw him at the NYC Winter Jazzfest in 2019 w/Kahil El Zabar, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Robert Irving III. Great to see him ... and THEM!

Saw her stream this album today. Good stuff. Looks like she has the same drummer and guitarist as before, plus a 2nd guitarist. Also a new bass player (she divorced her previous one). She played keyboards on some tunes which I haven't seen before.

That's a shame! I have a couple of Dexter albums recorded there. Had the good fortune to see 2 shows in 1978: Pat Metheny and then Carla Bley Band 3 nights later. Don't remember much about it or the shows, but fairly intimate if I remember correctly.

Finally got past the smoke week from hell. AQI <10 all day today which is about as low as it will ever get.

Today it looked better than it was. The AQI was about 150-160, which is moderately bad. We need to cut that by 1/3 at least!

One of my favorite bands. They streamed a live show from the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto last night. Made me happy.

I streamed 3 tracks that were available and was disappointed. She's a great drummer, but the tunes sounded like generic fusion (w/vocals), even the one with Carlos on guitar.

Should be pretty interesting!

Sadly, that's all very true. So many obstacles to getting live music back.

Got that email yesterday. Had no idea it was being released. I have an ancient bootleg on yellow vinyl of mediocre quality (as most were in the early 70s) that I haven't listened to in decades. A lot of jamming, IIRC. The only footage I've seen was tacked on to the end of the Rainbow Bridge film. At $30 this was a no-brainer to pre-order. Looking forward to it!

Small venues of all types are in real danger. They're obviously going to be the LAST places to be allowed to open. Issues with close crowds, questionable ventilation, thorough dish cleaning and bar hygiene - plus how do you isolate singers, especially in a rock venue. It's going to be VERY complicated until there is a trusted vaccine.

I thought about getting this. I liked that era of FM and saw them a couple of times with Welch. But when I thought about it, I probably wouldn't listen to these albums more than a couple of times now. Would really like to hear the live disk, though.
