  1. I'll see anything with Tim Berne!
  2. Yes, Live at Raji's () and the first album are great! I'm a huge Steve Wynn fan, anyway and he's continued to record and tour pretty consistently since those early years. This 'new' edition of the band (only Jason Victor is entirely new) is getting better and better.
  3. Saw them last night. They're on a ROLL right now!
  4. Pretty sure that Live/Evil was my first Miles album in the early 70s when I started getting into jazz. Took a while to 'understand' it, but became one of my favorites, too. I still have the CD, too ... and maybe the vinyl. I like that Flora too, and was a huge fan back in her Milestone years. I like Butterfly Dreams a bit better, but she was a real force when she emerged with the first RTF.
  5. A day older than ME! RIP, Lyle.
  6. I went to Giants Fan Fest on Saturday and was lucky enough to see Hunter Pence's first appearance after his signing on Friday. Here with Posey and Alex Dickerson
  7. It's not my order
  8. I was actually at the Tate Modern when it was in London, but didn't have time to see it. So, very happy that it came to SF.
  9. A friend of mine just received this email from Mosaic/Michael: Dear Mosaic customer We thought the curse of 2019 was gone. Last week we charged your credit card or your PayPal account thinking that inventory for the Hank Mobley was in stock at the warehouse. This was not the case. So when the order was made for more of the Mobley sets, we were told that the pressing plant Rainbo Records announced without warning that it had gone out of business (in fact, we heard about this from an L.A. Times article which is linked below). We are told that they presumptively tossed out all the CD paper components and may have scrapped the masters as well. The paper components have been re-ordered and once we get a more solid date for the sets to be shipped we will let you know. As of right now, our best guess is March to repair that wanton destruction and get more sets in stock. To all of you who are back-ordered, all we can say is that we are heartily sorry and that the wait will be worth it. Humbly, Michael Cuscuna
  10. Soul of a Nation at the deYoung Museum in SF. Good show! It's been travelling, so some of you might have seen it already.
  11. I was working in an SF record store when this came out and remember seeing him shopping there a few times. I think I was the only one who knew who he was.

    Billy Harper

    They're ALL good! Get 'em.
  13. I recently got a remastered 'Deluxe' edition of Some Friendly which is pretty good.
  14. One of the great under-the-radar bands on record, and especially live!
  15. I bet! Looking forward to hearing it.
