  1. Thanks for the reply relyles!
  2. Was this recorded?
  3. Way to go, Mr. & Mrs. J! You are truly blessed.
  4. Oops, I beleive I'm wrong about Hipnosis...
  5. Hilarious! Thanks Barak.
  6. Greg, I didn't think you even listened to cds anymore...
  7. None of 'em are coming up now...
  8. Yesterday: Robert Plant - Shaken & Stirred Pretty 80's-type instrumentation, but quite like nothing else done by other 80's bands. Long time since I'd heard this album; used to have the cassette of this, but that was lost in "THE GREAT TAPE HEIST OF 1987". Picked it up at Best Buy the other day. Pretty good sound on it actually. B) Heart - Alive In Seattle Oh my! It won me over. Liked the new songs, mostly. The classic tracks were given excellent treatments that kept me on the edge of my seat. Barracuda! Slightly slower than studio version, but something in there (Mike Inez's bass lines I think), just propels that song! (My comment refer to the mch mix of this hybrid SACD release) -_- B) Oh, and this is just my two cents... -_-
  9. If you check out Peter Losin's Miles Ahead website Claude posted, you'll find the SME (Japan) Mastersound Edition of '58 Sessions. Has the original sleeve (kinda bizarre looking; also viewable I think on that website). I have this and it's a great sounding 20bit SBM mini-lp cd. I would perhaps consider a trade for a JRVG I don't have...
  10. WHAAAATTTT!!! For real?
  11. Crap! That makes them almost irresistable!
  12. I'd have to say I prefer the Carnegie set as well. It just seems like there was magic in the air. Miles' solo on Neo!!! Holy shit!!! It's just crazy!!! And Spring Is Here is just so beautiful. God, it's beautiful. I love this music so much, I can ignore the sound limitations... But if this ever get improved upon, please make sure I know.
  13. Drimala still has three sound clips up and working even though they are sold out of the set. www.drimala.com I also HIGHLY recommend grabbing a copy of this set while you still can. Thanks John B. Those are definitely swaying me. I'm now wondering if maybe this should be the purchase I make with my Mosaic gift certificate... I wonder which will go out of print first...the Mosaic T/K/M, or JJ Johnson, or the Nessa AEC box? To have such problems...
  14. That's the way I'll get mine as well...as soon as I can find some samples to listen to...
  15. There's a "Sound Of Music" SACD? Wow!!! I'll bet on this version you can actually hear the hills sing! Seriously, I love those songs...
  16. This is a set I've been considering as well. Does anyone know of a website that offers sound clips of the music? That would be most helpful...
  17. Thanks ubu and Lon for your insights towards Chico. Much appreciated.
  18. Alice Coltrane's "Universal Consciousness" is larger than most of the others as well. I think this was an attempt to completely mimic the size and feel of the original lp. The one for Dizzy's "Afro" is really much more thin and flimsy than any of the others. They even try to duplicate the original paper stocks used...
  19. Ooooh, I forgot about the JJ Johnson... Okay, which one: T/K/M or JJ?
  20. I also believe this new issue of The Bridge states on a sticker on the front something about being remastered by Mark Wilder using DSD technology... I usually like the stuff Wilder turns out.
  21. Oops, it's spelled Marsh. Duly noted...
  22. So, is the Tristano/Konitz/Marshe set East Coast, West Coast, or just totally unique, a la the Hamilton concept?
