I think Fresh Sounds have done quite a few Scott re-issues now, of course there is quite a lot of overlap and the sound quality is variable on some of them to say the least but I'm not sure anyone would be able to do anything about that. Perusing Brown's discography, I saw a wealth of unissued sessions dating from 1964 on. In addition there are the many albums of his released only in Europe and Japan. It seems like what is really needed is a Holy Ghost-like project that would pull all of these disparate parts together into a carefully annotated package. The man certainly deserves it. Quote

There are some teriffic small group recordings and there would be enough material for a 3cd set. Perhaps I have already put this up or mentioned it in another thread...but here it is. Albums: Snooky and Marshal's Album Marshal Royal: First Chair Marshal Royal: Royal Blue There were also numerous other Concord records that he appeared as a sideman. Anybody think this is viable?
