jazzbo Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) 299×300 6.01 KB I checked and the other cd that has this Blakey session in my holdings (“Hardbop” Savoy Jazz cd) has the mono version of the session (plus a stereo alternate and a Hardman led session) and sounds much better for it. Now on to disc two of “Miles Davis '54” --which has a bit more of Miles and Sonny together, and also the session with Monk and Milt. Edited May 26 by jazzbo Quote

Duke Ellington “Volume 10 1947-1951 The Alternative Takes In Chronological Order” Neatwork cd I have most of this material on other LPs and cds but I love this music so much. . . I picked this and several other Neatwork Duke cds cheap and really enjoy their sound. i think this period of Duke’s work is not as “famous” as it should be. Quote
