You were lucky to never have heard that one. 'Marechal Nous Voila'. This was a 1941 song for Marshall Philippe Petain who was the infamous French state leader/collaborator during the World War II occupation of France. The song was required to be sung daily by all French schoolchildren during the nazi occupation.

From the regulation Google so-called translation job:

I rate it the alltime worst song. No contest...

"Feelings" drives me nuts.

I'm convinced that the real reason Eric Clapton has the blues is because he has to play 'Wonderful Tonight' ever night (and realise that he actually wrote it [in what must have been one of his worst bouts of alcoholism/drug-dependence]).

"God Save the Queen" is pretty dire too (both versions!!!).

Of course this is a list of the Top 50 Worst *popular* songs - songs that were hits and most everybody knows. Few of these come close to being truly *bad* songs, and obviously any intentionally bad songs were kept off the list. Those of you with any extensive LP or CD collections will know what I'm talking about. And bubblegum - "Sugar Sugar," for example - doesn't count. That said, while I'm not sure if they're the worst to me, there are quite a number of songs on that list that I really dislike.

But, really, The Doors' "The End?" That's a stone classic.

Every decade had its share of horrid pop songs and I concur with many of those listed above although I do like Ebony & Ivory. OTOH McCartney's duet with MJ on This Girl Is Mine is .

IMO, one of the worst songs ever was from the 50s, sung by Patti Page, How Much is That Doggy in the Window. Can't believe this childish ditty even sold in the multi-millions. :excited::wacko:

There are quite a few people who consider that song to have signaled the death of the classic American popular song. Who am I to argue?

Imagine circus music accompanying these magical words:

SUGAR SHACK

There’s a crazy little shack beyond the tracks

And ev’rybody calls it the sugar shack

Well, it’s just a coffeehouse and it’s made out of wood

Expresso coffee tastes mighty good

That’s not the reason why I’ve got to get back

To that sugar shack, whoa baby

To that sugar shack.

There’s this cute little girlie, she’s a’workin’ there

A black leotard and her feet are bare

I’m gonna drink a lotta coffee, spend a little cash

Make that girl love me when I put on some trash

You can understand why I’ve got to get back

To that sugar shack, whoa baby

To that sugar shack, yeah honey

To that sugar shack, whoa yes

To that sugar shack.

Now that sugar shack queen is a’married to me, yeah yeah

We just sit around and dream of those old memories

Ah, but one of these days I’m gonna lay down tracks

In the direction of that sugar shack

Just me and her yes we’re gonna go back

To that sugar shack,, whoa uh oh

To that sugar shack, yeah honey

To our sugar shack

Yeh, yeh, yeh, our sugar shack
