John Tapscott Posted January 19, 2022 Report Posted January 19, 2022 Just finished listening to this enjoyable set: Now on to this truly outstanding set: Quote
Jim Duckworth Posted February 2, 2022 Report Posted February 2, 2022 I had been listening to the material on disc 1 from other sources for years and not really played the Mosaic version very much (if at all). Disc 2 is a go-to for me as always. Quote

Thank you for recommending that. Embarrassingly, I found that my set's third disc had never been opened. Perhaps it was meant to be so...I am finding it the perfect record for me today. Quote

Bluesnik Posted February 6, 2022 Report Posted February 6, 2022 Enjoying a trio of Farlow, Claude Williamson and Red Mitchell, which was discussed elsewhere here (the part of Swing Guitars). Although I think THE Farlow trio was with Eddie Costa and Vinnie Burke. Quote

The engineers succeeded in taking you right there. Edited February 20, 2022 by mikeweil Quote
mikeweil Posted February 22, 2022 Report Posted February 22, 2022 This tunred out to be one of my favourite sets, especially the tracks with pianists Fischer, McCann, or Wofford. And I remember how long I hesitated and ordered a copy at the last minute. Quote
sidewinder Posted March 7, 2022 Report Posted March 7, 2022 LP1 - featuring the great Edmond Hall Celeste Quartet ‘Profoundly Blue’ tracks. Quote

Thanks for the reminder! Quote
mhatta Posted March 9, 2022 Report Posted March 9, 2022 I recently realized that this was more valuable than I thought. Jackie McLean's "Hipnosis", which I love very much, is only available on CD here after all. Quote
gmonahan Posted March 13, 2022 Report Posted March 13, 2022 Disc VI with the Capitol Jazzmen. Some rare Jimmie Noone on clarinet. And of course, Big T. Quote
Jim Duckworth Posted March 17, 2022 Report Posted March 17, 2022 Disc 4 with Billy Butterfield, Cootie Williams, Mel Powell, Sid Catlett may well be the best band Benny Goodman ever had. Quote
