Listening to one of my most beloved Mosaics again. I said it sometime ago, but Pass is as wonderful here on steel strings as on nylon ones.

I really enjoy the feel and approach of the whole set, as well as the standout sides. Though when I was playing Disk 1 I was told that it sounds like “nightmare music” so maybe it’s not for everyone...

Disc 4 from the Basie/Young set. The mastering on these is remarkable. Freddie Green really shines.

Don't have the set (no plans to buy it, I have to confess) -- but I do love that cover of the Joe Henderson box.

Joe, arguably "over-lit" (overexposed?) like that -- with the almost lens flare quality of the light on his tenor, and other similar "hot" lighting on him, his glasses, the collar of his shirt, etc... -- all looks pretty damn badass, IMHO.
