  1. Past hour
  2. I've been pulling out albums I haven't heard in a number of years.
  3. I saw Ron Eschete live a few times. With Gene Harris, and once with his own trio. He was a fine jazz guitarist. R.I.P.

  5. Today
  6. Wow that is a shock. A fine addition to the Gene Harris Quartet as long as that group existed. RIP.

    RIP, Ron Eschete

Great guitarist who was centered in LA for many years, and then got a teaching gig in Portland about six years ago. He shattered his shoulder in a fall, and an MRI revealed Colon Cancer. I just heard about it and still can't believe it,
  8. Yes!!! Just pulled this out of my recently-purchased stack to resume listening.
  9. Did anyone here see them live together?
  10. Had to binge from the benning to do m, but I'm now caught up on Hacks.
  11. I'm two series behind on that. . . may not continue.
  12. My favorite Marvel series too, though I don't have Disney + and haven't been able to watch the new season. Just finished "The Boys" season finale. I've enjoyed that series a lot. I don't think anyone ever had so much fun in a role as Karl Urban did playing Billy Butcher!
  13. Any before that? And/or remind me how you came to record for Demark in ‘66? (Apologies, Chuck, you’ve probably told some of those stories here before, but I’m forgetting the details.) Maybe start a new thread, if you don’t want to derail this one — although god knows threads go all over the place around here (much to everyone’s benefit usually). Thanks in advance!
  14. I was much too young to see Coltrane. I saw Miles in 1984 with players like John Scofield and Bill Evans (sax) in the band. This was actually my very first jazz concert.
  15. I left that part out of the encounter.
  16. When did he joke about breaking you arm?
  17. my parents saw Miles twice, once acoustic and once electric. The latter was at the Village Gate, not sure where the former was. Neither saw Coltrane. actually, scratch certainty on electric at the Gate -- could have been the Fillmore East with Butterfield?
  18. I recorded Roscoe and Joseph Jarman sessions for Delmark in 1966.
