  1. Today
  2. I just got a pretty large order from CDJapan delivered by FedEx with no tarrifs due. Most of it was the new Byg/Actuel series released last month. Phew!
  3. I have this LP and quite enjoy it.
  4. On first listen, I'm not thrilled by the overall performance. It feels very formal, not loose, with the exception of Sayonara Blues, and No Smokin, which are excellent. I couldn't find their playing much different than the studio performances, again excepting the two mentioned tracks.
  5. Farewell, Brownie. Enjoyed your posts.
  6. Thanks for sharing - I jumped around that video a bit and liked what I heard. I think they're fascinating and have had an interesting evolution in their sound from the early albums to the more recent stuff.
  7. Now getting ready for the Axis box set coming Friday by replaying last year’s jewel box “Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision” cd 1
  8. ❤️ 👍 beeing an Eddie Costa fan too ( for example: see Tal Farlow )
  9. No doubt, John. Just grabs you by the lapels.
  10. One of the greatest live trio (saxophone-organ-drums) recordings.
  11. Yes.
  12. Late start to listening today, my “nursing” duties started early and persisted. Starting off with Francisco Mora Catlett “Afro Horn MX” Aace 2 cd set, disc 1 200×200 20.8 KB
  13. The thing about Gardner's stats is that they don't take into account his propensity to get called for a lot of penalties. For some reason, most metrics used to rate CBs don't account for it either, so he looks better on paper than he does in reality. As I said, if the Colts don't use him right, they may regret it.
  14. So far this appears to only be LP?
  15. Tetsu Inoue – Slow And Low
  16. John Williams piano playing always reminds me of the piano playing of Eddie Costa. They both have a percussive style with similar phrasing.
  17. His stats and play lately aren't worth 2 firsts for sure. But he's never played on a team with a good offense either, and a better offense can help defenders by putting pressure on the other team to make mistakes if they're trying to catch up. They overspent though, and anything short of a super bowl after that is going to be a disappointment. Jets were also trying to trade Breece Hall and received an offer from the Chiefs for a 4th Rd pick. Jets wanted a 3rd and held out. Kind of weird they'd do that after getting those 2 firsts. Not a Jets fan btw but have friends that are. I give them my condolences just about every season.
