  1. Past hour
  2. Mal had moved on for a decade (70’s) and in the 80’s he moved sorta back sometimes to standard material.
  3. Similar. But not the same.
  4. Today
  5. I would love t I would love to have seen/heard this. To me, Cacavas was the secret sauce that made Green on Red stand out, and I was a big fan of their work with him ,and of Dream Syndicate. And Cacavas's solo albums are very interesting indeed (much more so than what Green on Red did without him).
  6. Sonny Jurgensen has died at 91. RIP. I enjoyed listening to him with Sam Huff and Frank Herzog on the Redskins' radio broadcasts. I had his bubble gum card in 1961! Legendary NFL QB Sonny Jurgensen, who starred in Washington and Philadelphia, dies at 91
  7. Original LP. Needs to be reissued. A masterpiece. Original LP
  8. Great characterization
  9. I think it's Configuration.
  10. Shoji Aketagawa (with Hiroshi Hatsuyama), Nojiri No Tasogare This is weird but pretty cool and in the upper tier of Aketagawa recordings IMO, although his trademark vocalizing is loud and likely to turn some listeners off.
  11. I just re-listened to the first recording. While sound is indeed terrible at the very beginning, it gets significantly better. Loud audience voices are the primary distraction. The music is fantastic.
  12. Original LP here along with the International Phonographic CD. I think that will do me.
  13. Here is a review of the league's articles about the free agents leading up to the Feb. 10 signing day. https://www.cfl.ca/everything-you-need-to-know-ahead-of-the-2026-cfl-free-agency/ ***** Jabari Arthur will be the Elks' running backs coach this year. https://3downnation.com/2026/02/06/former-cfl-receiver-jabari-arthur-joins-edmonton-elks-coaching-staff/ ***** This thread's view count stands at 538,400; an increase of 21,500 since December 15 (406 per day).
  14. Rogue Male (1939) by Geoffrey Household. Len Deighton and Eric Ambler if you haven't read them. If you like the occasional mystery with classy, brassy, humorous protagonist try Smallbone Deceased by Michael Gilbert (1950). You might also enjoy John D. MacDonald. He has the Travis McGee series and a lot of good non-series stuff.
  15. Regarding atmosphere and suspense, a favorite of mine is the Quiller spy series by Adam Hall. The Ninth Directive in particular. I also have read a little of the Scot Harvath series by Brad Thor which I have enjoyed.
  16. Yesterday
  17. Here's the tracklist for the Waldron: Tracklist A1 - All Alone (6:26) A2 - All God's Chillun Got Rhythm (10:40) B1 - Fire Waltz (11:13) B2 - I Thought About You (8:07) C1 - It Could Happen To You (5:47) C2 - Round Midnight (6:50) D1 - Stella By Starlight (11:15) D2 - Old Folks (feat. Sonny Stitt) (3:02) D3 - Stardust (feat. Sonny Stitt) (4:31)
  18. I also have most of the first recording (which circulated as a bootleg), but I don't have the second recording at all, the one that includes Giant Steps and Satellite. If Tiberi recorded the second one, were there other taper(s) in Philadelphia besides Tiberi at the time? (I can't recall the name, but I remember hearing there was one). The sound quality of the first recording is terrible, so I hope the second one is at least a little better.
  19. Was Waldron playing a lot of standards on his gigd in 1979, or had he pretty much moved on?
