  6. David Budbill & William Parker – Zen Mountains Zen Streets wonderful stuff.
  7. 1200×630 129 KB Sonny Rollins “Freedom Weaver” Resonance Records 3 cd set, disc 1 I’ve long had this material in previous issues and it does sound a bit clearer and more vivid (and louder) here. Amazing music–Sonny was a true jazz force at this time.
  8. Today
  9. Conjunto Constanza "La Zurrapita" (Salsa Internacional) 1982 .... the second album for the label maintained the quality ...., some great bass work by Orlando Felix and the coro of Milton Cardona + José Mangual Jr. really gets going ....
  10. Thanks for sharing this Brad - only seeing it now as I had stopped following up with this thread. I can't comprehend why the Times writer thinks its factual to say that photographs weren't with the tapes but "archival dives... turned up ... photographs." The only imputation to that statement I've set in bold is photographs were found with the tapes when photograph expeditions didn't even happen concurrently to the BN tape expeditions in the 70s. Simplified to the point of leaving a false impression with the reader which is shitty writing.
  11. Among the many arrangements for other artists (Fifth Dimension, Shorty Rogers, The Kenton Orchestra a.o.) this one is a favorite of mine The Four Freshmen " The Swingers"

  13. Ron Carter “Four Sight: The Complete Stockholm Tapes” disc 1
  14. Thanks both, very much looking forward to this evening
  15. Johann (aka Hans)- Anton Rettenbacher 😇😎 .... and agreement reg Aladar Pege ....
  16. One of my favorite piano trio records, Yancy Korossy's "Identification" (MPS) has "Hans" Rettenbacher on bass. Is this J.A. or Harry or a complete stranger? Aladar Pege might be well known in his native Hungary, but little known outside his country. He possesses incredible technique.
  17. Sona Jobarteh is great! I saw her last year at Big Ears. Unfortunately it was a short set, so I definitely want to see her again.
  18. I'll raise you the opening scene from Roger Corman's Bucket of Blood, which recycles Fred Katz's score to Little Shop of Horrors.
  19. Funkadelic - Music For Your Mother (Funkadelic 45's) Forgot I owned this. Not the greatest SQ but great music.
