  1. No, it's a reflection in the glass. I have 2 or 3 other shots from then and no one is there.
  2. OK. Gene Perla - PM, Richard Seidel - Schwann catalog, Contemporary, Verve/Universal, John Norris - Coda, Sackville, Bob Koester - Delmark, Bob Porter - Phoenix, Prestige, Savoy, etc, Nils Winther - SteepleChase, Bernie Brightman - Stash, Jass, etc, Bill Smith - Coda, Sackville, me, Marvin Goldberg - Jazz Archive, Susan and Jim Neumann - BeeHive, Bob Cummins - India Navigation. I neglected to say Paul Bley - IAI and Bernard Stollman - ESP were there but we couldn't find them at photo time. Thanks to my Ann for getting it all together. The next night I ran into Cecil in the hotel bar. He was in town visiting family.
  3. Should I edit it and put label affiliations in?
  4. Gene Perla, Richard Seidel, John Norris, Bob Koester, Bob Porter, Nils Winther, Bernie Brightman, Bill Smith, me, Marvin Goldberg, Susan and Jim Neumann, Bob Cummins.
  5. I have had a concert recording with Lyons, Sirone and Cyrille scheduled for release since the late '70s. Things always seem to get in the way.
  6. Mel Gibson.
  7. With a gazilion hours of well recorded Cecil Taylor (I have more than I will ever listen too and I love Cecil and hope to issue a cd by him) are you intrigued by a boot?
  8. Or check with Bobby Naughton - Otic is his label.
  9. I don't know whether to salute you or damn you. I had wondered how long it would take for someone to make the joke.
  10. Agreed, and perhaps best experienced on this disc. The Classics Hawkins series contains 44 tracks from the European stay and Neatwork issued 21 alternates.
  11. More important stuff being ignored to our peril.
  12. Fun to watch Jim go thru the material. I have had 99% of the material for years and love the fresh responses. Thanks Jim.
  13. FWIW, this pretty much reflects my feelings about the music.
  14. I have stopped buying Arc Rum as a result of this thread. I should also have explained the Arizona Drains are in the southern part of the state and have been really, really dry for years. I think I have a pic somewhere.
  15. Miles was usually a dickhead and he wanted to be that person. He was always acting. I believe under all the facades, he was really a dickhead.
  16. Did she smile?
  17. That reflects the reality of the music biz today.
  18. Thorough reviews on the UK Amazon site.
  19. His most recent recordings and a archival release of the Griot Galaxy are available on entropy.
  20. Taylor's the guy who danced with Martin Williams? If I remember correctly, he was a writer only other writers knew. How does one become so limited? It must take some work.
  21. Lon, say it isn't so! If you're looking at vinyl again, digital must be dying. He's just run out of things to buy.
