  1. He did his job well and seemed to be a nice man. Not an easy task.
  2. Better (for me) than Love Supreme.
  3. Sometimes I have a problem getting stuff out of my head when I have been working on something in the studio. Ten days ago I was mixing one of my dates and still wake up in the middle of the night with one (or another) tune going thru my head. Then I take a leak and return to the music for a while before dropping off to sleep.
  4. You need to spend some time at Founders.
  5. election returns.
  6. Not issued. TBR means "to be released". Don't hold your breath.
  7. Yes it is. Too bad they included a new version of The Thespian. The BN recording was the pinnacle of his discography for many fans and the new one fell short. Something else should have been included to show the special qualities of this wonderful date. Please pay attention to the session - a fine one. My complaint is only about one tune.
  8. A listing of Uptown titles is available HERE. The last lp issue was 27.32. The balance of the list is cd only. I see the list hasn't been updated in a while.
  9. Not enough to make it worthwhile for me. You will get about 1 disc worth of new material, including a couple of sideman gigs backing singers. I suggest printing out the contents and checking off the titles you have. That's what I did.
  10. This is the only one beyond the Signals I can think of.
  11. Slaves often took the name of the owner. Ra probably came from "stock" bred on a Blount property.
  12. I've had the recording for years and never noticed it. If Persip screwed the time up by being Persip (complicated, not wrong), I'd think Carter was confused by him. This happens with some drummers - Wilbur Campbell used to screw up "newcomers" all the time. Edit to say I must admit my opinion is flavored by my preference for Persip over Carter.
  13. I have the TOCJ stereo disc and the original mono master on TOCJ-9064, the JRVG version.
  14. Very good players but the video gives me pause. The ECM name seems to put some sort of "clamp" on wonderful musicians.
  15. All the best Chris. Hope we can connect again in the future.
  16. Can't imagine Jim's problem. My iMac keyboard had a problem a few weeks ago (the "j" would not work) and I took it to the closest Apple store (Grand Rapids, MI) and they gave me a new one.
  17. No, he became extinct 77 years after coming in contact with our species.
  18. Who told you my secret code was "Bosco"? Coltrane.
  19. I got the money meant for Dan.
  20. No contracts is probably the correct answer. I will see if Walter Allen has anything to say about this.
  21. Just checked and see I paid $14.89 (including shipping) for the 4 disc set. An wonderful deal.
  22. You mean that small set that went OOP so fast? I won't pay those 70$ or so that you'd need to shelve out these days to get hold of it, but it's still a bit of a drag then! Yes, that's the one. Anybody know whether that version of "Ebony Rhapsody" is exclusive to that set? The Ebony Rhapsody material in this box seems to be an "exclusive". I have never encountered it elsewhere.
  23. I have Office for Mac and use it every day.
