  1. So what's with the title? Do all the guys on the cd have........................................
  2. Bunch of regret about these going out of print - and not on my shelves. The FF were a group I saw live (3 or 4 times) in my early jazz days. Nostalgia tugs. I like Bailey a bunch but can't justify the $$$. Maybe in my next life I'll win a lottery or something.
  3. IMO, Roscoe's most recent recorded work is far beyond anything Moye has ever done. Jarman is not in good health and is not playing well for some time but his "conceptions" are beyond Moye. Don Moye is a master percussionist and I mean no disrespect to his work - it is just on another level.
  4. No, when the red light is on you gotta pay the girl.
  5. I wouldn't give up a chance to see Roscoe Mitchell live. Especially when he is on stage with Moye and Jarman! Well, I skipped - went to a fashion show instead. The main reason I would go see AEoC is not Mitchell or Jarman. It's Moye. Silly boy. Don't like fashion shows, Chuck? Guess not. Didn't know that was your goal.

  7. Elvis King David Arnold Stang
  8. Which of these friends was gay?
  9. I was ready to say Elvis.
  10. Hey Ak, just want to give my 2 cents. I first heard Cecil "live" with Lyons. Grimes and Murray around '64. I've heard Cecil many times since and produced a concert with him once (also a failed recording project - not Cecil's fault). In a personal way I consider him a friend though I have not talked to him in 20 years. The band on "Salty Swift" is my favorite of his groups (with the exception of the Lyons, Sirone, Cyrille quartet). The New Worlds are amazing and the MPS disc if fine too. Just relax and let the music take you. Or not.
  11. I just read the first couple of sentences and stopped. I don't need to know right now. Just pull her nails out with a pliers and check back for more instructions.
  12. At the end of the move, steal 3 or 4 furniture pads from the movers and nail them at the top of the doorway.
  13. I suggest you package them individually in mailers from Uline. They will be well protected.
  14. Helen was a strange one. Northwestern Univ. hosted a "women in jazz" symposium around 1980. Don DeMichael and I ran into Helen Keane and Toshiko in a record store in Evanston. Don introduced me to them as a producer and mentioned my Warne Marsh date. Both of the women responded that they each had produced a date recently with Warne - Helen did one with Bill Evans and Konitz and Toshiko a 2 tenor date with Lou Tabackin. We exchanged stories, chatted pleasantly (I was delighted to meet them) and I left to return to work. Don told me after I left Helen said "Did you see that? Every time I meet a male producer he acts like that. They don't think we're worth shit and I'm sick of it". Toshiko said she thought I was "delightful".
  15. Not the first time I failed.
  16. Did I mention "free enterprise"?
  17. I have two. What would you like to know? Manufacturing technologies and real costs.
  18. Haven't found a free download of that one.
  19. First time I've seen these grouped.
  20. The "per disc" price comes out to $6.6666666666666666. Are you really sure you want to tempt the fates?
  21. I have some questions about the Prius technology and what it saves vs what it consumes.
