  1. I will give it a try. Geez, I just noticed my old one is back. Your "fix" must have restrored it too.
  2. The HR dept at my wife's place of employment sent the following email to the workers: We would like to give everyone an opportunity to vote today. If you are > unable to go after work, please talk to your supervisor about making > accommodations for you. The lines are averaging anywhere from 1/2-1 hour > at this point.
  3. In the early '60s Art made a wonderful duo record with Truck Parham on bass. This was on Emarcy and I am not aware of any reissue.
  4. Yours? Easily. Hold on to the antlers. B-)
  5. I thought Coors Lite was running for the Senate.
  6. My original red vinyl stereo lp was pressed on virgin vinyl and had great sound. The black mono copy Conte gave me still sounded good. I believe Ace records in England now controls the rights to the catalog.
  7. Probably the first time it has been bootlegged too.
  8. Conte was proud of it and wanted to promote it.
  9. I have and I have a few hundred of them right here. I also have the labelmate recording of Social Call by Rouse with Red Rodney, Albert Dailey, etc. I think these are Rouse's best dates by far. They are also primo examples of RVG at the top of his game.
  10. Yup. If I'm not mistaken, this is in the topic header.
  11. Please tell me you meant Chaney. You edited before I could post. You typed CHENEY you knucklehead.
  12. Plesse tell me you meant Chaney.
  13. I'm getting frequent error pages tonight and have to hit refresh. My avatar has gone away too. What is the problem.
  14. Never heard of stuff being "charged back" for free cds but artists usually get zippo from record club sales. This is covered by contracts they signed when they took money for the date. Some details might be challenged but most of it is up front some way or other. If an artist feels abused by the practice, the rewards are not worth the legal expense.
  15. That means it dissolves in water. Right?
  16. The Bush supporters MUST be the guys with all the money. Wheezie and Berry must pay 30% each, followed by Conn and Greg K. More to follow.
  17. That's why I mailed a check.
  18. Charles Tyler's "Saga of the Outlaws". Yes, I know this was issued on my label, but I bought the tape from Charles and have never had the money to reissue it. I just don't want Charles and this record forgotten.
  19. Thanks guys. Please don't tell anyone I killed Rudolph and he's hanging from a tree in my front yard. Some nice steaks this winter. Some good news for those remembering the early messages. The acetate changes with breaks in various performances match up perfectly (with a few pitch corrections) so no solos are interrupted. This stuff does take time to do correctly so the thieves have good source material. Y'all remember there is only one set of discs and we got 'em. The Gillespie estate cleared it and all that (shortly) follow are stealing our work. I think you will be amazed.
  20. Not in time for Christmas. Not my fault. My work is done.
  21. No mention of Bobby Wellins?
  22. This date was issued on 3 Delmark lps now combined on Ice Cream and another disc called Hello Central. Excellent stuff.
  23. In the early '60s Vernon and sister label MVM (Mount Vernon Music) issued a number of cheap lps from various sources including Musicraft and Rae Cox/Enrica. They may have been connected with another cheapo outfit called Sutton. I had records by Ellington, Lightnin' Hopkins, Ed Hall and Bennie Green.
  24. As far as I know. I last heard him about 2 years ago and he sounded fine.
  25. IIRC, this is some of the Musicraft masters from 1946. I had this lp many years ago.
