  1. I think your boss lurks here.
  2. Was Morgana ever "famous" beyond the Godfather movies?
  3. A "sidebar" to welcome Allen here. Members should check out his books. That Devilin' Tune is the place to start. Like only a few writers, he makes me think.
  4. Dexter Landslide and next up Johnny Hodges/Wild Bill Davis Mess of Blues.
  5. My bad. They DO look alike.
  6. I think you answered your own question with the word "nearly". The 2fer called Jacknife made available 2 lps scheduled, but unreleased. Jacknife was to be BN 4223 and High Frequency was given the number 4236. On the other hand, Vertigo was an incomplete date. When it was later issued on lp Michael added another track to fill the record out. It would be possible to issue High Frequency and Consequences together.
  7. Y'ever feel the world is a tuxedo and you're a pair of brown shoes?
  8. Reading the header, I thought we were entering Mister Robinson's neighborhood. B-)
  9. Now, if we can add "smell-o-rama" we can get the kids under 10 - yeah, that's the ticket.
  10. What type of music? I'd guess she's a hummer.
  11. Yup, free music, that's the ticket.
  12. After I collect my thoughts, I will post about this too. I was a CBS employee at the time and I know one of the guys got away with $75,000.
  13. Barry Mann,,,,,,let's see - curly haired Jewish New Yorker - right? Nah, couldn't be him. We are AMERICANS and this is OUR music.
  14. I don't have a clue. Somebody posted a picture asking for identification. I wanted to say it was possibly Jimmy Harris (trumpeter in the Erskine Hawkins band) and discovered I could not post.
  15. Maggie's about 3 feed under the ground in our front yard. I'll point out the exact spot.
  16. I think it was Paul Whiteman.
  17. Thanks alot, you skinhead.
  18. Yes, but I'm still banned at AAJ! B-)
  19. Yes, there are a bunch of flaws in the original recording from 1954. I like the choices Rudy made in 2001 for this reissue. BTW, if it don't matter why keep this going? My only point is, considering the 1954 tapes/RVG technology, the current versions are wonderful. Sorry you can't hear the great stuff happnin'.
  20. Too late Jimmy.
  21. You must have heard of free popcorn, free peanuts, free beer, free Huey, free jazz. Well, this is free poll.
  22. Mike, I urge you to search out the Rosen (vinyl or cd). What Schumann recordings do you have by him. CR's been a favorite for over 3 decades. I think he's "as bright" as a musician dares before becoming a pedantic bore. He lives on the edge. Do you know his writing?
  23. Well, WHOOP-DEE-DOO!!!!!!! B-)
