Ditto.. they work perfectly fine. Yeah, I'm a convert to those. Huge space savings. It's not quite as easy to find things on the shelves, but you can read the tray card labels by riffling the sleeves on the shelves. If the discs are alphabetized or otherwise pre-organized, it's not that difficult.

No I don't have any insight... I just don't see any patterns what they are releasing.. For example.. how did they pick those 5 from all of David Murray's BS/SN recordings??? Neither do I. @tranemonk: is there any particular reason for your, uhm, line of reasoning? Any insights that we miss?

Are there any box bargains currently available?

That doesn't really explain much.... ??? -
Thanks for tipping me onto this artist... I gave a listen and am definitely ordering the CD... How'd you find out about her???

I noticed this a while back... Amazon has a got a ridiculous price on 5 OOP Waldron albums as MP3s. http://www.amazon.co...ldron%20Quintet The irony is that most of these songs are over 20 minutes each (since they are from live sets) and Amazon is selling them for $1 each (basically). Since I don't think that Black Saint Soul Note reissue plan may get to these and since Itunes charges more... I've grabbed all of these... I've listened to the Seagulls of Kristiansund and The Git-Go Live at the Vanguard... Both are excellent...Highly recommended. I tend to be pretty lukewarm about digital only stuff but this is great.

I think after that is one about the Central Park Jogger case from NYC in 1989. It was an extremely controversial high-profile case involving the wrongful conviction of several young African-American teenagers accused of a brutal gang rape of Trisha Melli.

I have seen her live and she's quite good...

You probably need to go into Add-Remove Programs... That is typically how you should get rid of it. -
Okay I got through the first 2 cds... The sound is FANTASTIC... esp. reading about some of the issues from the original recordings... Disc 1 is a little better than Disc 2... but this is great, great stuff...

It doesn't bother me.. Given what she went through with Art (based on Straight Life) she's got my blessing... You're not alone on this, I hated it from the very beginning. I think this topic has come up before and if I recall correctly, Laurie said something to the effect that Art would have appreciated the dark "humor" of the title. To me, it seems to reduce Art to some kind of cash commodity rather than act as a vehicle to bring his wonderful performances to light. It casts a bad shadow on her motivation for doing whatever she does with Art's work released under the label. It's got a bit of a greedy ring to it and lends itself to interpreting her role as the "poor widow" for whom we should feel sorry. Had I been in her circle of influence, I would have strongly advised against using that horrible name for her label.

I have all of them and enjoy each one... The only one which is a little off is Vol. 4 (which I think Laurie has said she tried to do too much with)... My faves (outside of the new one which I haven't listened to yet) are Vols. 3 and 5.... This series prompted me to read Straight Life... It's a depressing and compelling read which definitely gave me a greater understanding of Art (and even more appreciation of Laurie...). I'd recommended them all personally. Alan, I like them all, but my favorite by far is Vol. 2 of the Unreleased Art series, The Last Concert. Roger Kellaway on piano makes it special, I think. I pretty much like all of them too. I've just been listening to Live In Stuttgart. The only one I didn't buy had some material that I have in another format.

Just got mine too... but it's definitely not too much... I've got some papers to review so I'll be checking it out this weekend.

A couple of interesting box sets..... http://fr.popmarket.com/stan-getz-the-classic-columbia-albums-collection/details/25809734 http://fr.popmarket.com/return-to-forever-the-complete-columbia-albums-collection/details/25809728 I'm interested in both.. since A) I've only got Captain Marvel in the Getz box... and B) I'm going to see the new incarnation of RTF next month... Got a couple of questions for you though... A) the RTF box says the live set is 3 CDs... I picked up a 2CD live set a month ago. This one.... http://www.allmusic.com/album/r164142. Anyone got any idea if the track listing is the same? Did they just spread the same stuff over three CDs? Or are there previously unreleased tracks? B) On the Getz set.. Is the rest of the set similar to Captain Marvel? Thanks... Any one getting these sets?? Prices are not great but.....

Don't know who your ISP is but many of them provide free AV software. For example I've got comcast and we get Norton Security Suite for free... I'd look to your ISP.

My experience with these types of things is to do two things... 1) Run the virus scan from multiple sites (e.g., Symantec and McAfee for example)... Assuming you are running Windows 2) Reboot into Safe mode (hit F8 several times as soon as the computer restarts) with the network enabled... then repeat step 1... From my experience that usually does it... Good luck and let me know what happens.

Looks fantastic...Thanks for the info.
