  1. I'd go with the Jazz Crusaders.. It's a fun set.. don't have the Parker though... Can't get into the solos only thing...
  2. Bummer... Cindy would have fixed this..... My Turrentine box recently came with no number - not in the booklet, not on the receipt. I asked Mosaic for the #, and got this reply from Scott: "The booklets are pre-numbered and therefore we have no idea what each set is numbered. This is one of the downfalls of the economy as we are now just 3 people in offices, while a fulfillment house a few miles away is where the warehouse is. Sorry for the inconvenience." Music's still great, though.
  3. I caught this one on NPR yesterday.. http://www.npr.org/2010/12/15/132079058/john-hammond-the-ear-of-an-oracle
  4. The numbers are no longer on the inside of the booklet. Look at the back. Their either on the back cover or inside back cover. Got through the first 8 discs.. Sounds fine to me... There's a couple of tracks with minor problems but it's fine.
  5. just got mine yesterday.. #186 ... This will definitely help grading all these god awful exams .....
  6. LOL.. Love that one...
  7. I don't get the whole... I wanted it thing... not to want it... We know that Mosaic does use consumer feedback (e.g., people and boards like this one) to gauge potential interest in a set... It would seem to me that if you wanted it then... why not now? (If for one was never interested in Threadgill, Braxton....)
  8. My problem with all of these Hip-O-Selects is not the music... The problem is they are over-priced and the packaging sucks.....
  9. Really sad... I had the serious hots for her in an Unmarried Woman.... I think I was 13 or 14 at the time... First "R" rated movie I saw by myself.....
  10. They're working now... In any case I ordered my set today...
  11. You guys are nudging me..... What I would say is that Windows 7 is a very good operating system... Still too bloated but much better than what Microsoft has done before....
  12. I have to say that I'm considering switching... I thought the Ipad was kind of a joke... but the apps in the Apple store do have me intrigued.... I might wait until Verizon gets the Iphone and then consider it.
  13. Wish I could go... But I just did order the CD from the Jazz Legacy site... and I'd definitely be interested in the French release.... :tup
  14. Looking forward to it Laurie... How many CD's will it be??? Is that the next planned release?? thanks for doing all of this!
  15. I hope this is an approved release and Laurie is getting something out of this....
  16. I was DEFINITELY one of the skeptics. Anybody know where Cindy went to???? She was truly fantastic! So now it's just Scott, Fred, and Michael? Yes.
  17. Nice piece!!! Makes me want to crash over there sometime...
  18. I'd have to agree with the Lee Morgan votes... but I'd have to add my fave... Michel Petrucciani...
  19. last night I purchased their Teddy Wilson gig at the Great American Music Hall from 1977.. Figured for $7 it was a good way to determine whether I might be interested in the Storyville box....  http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/teddy-wilson/concerts/great-american-music-hall-march-18-1977-1st-set.html After listening to it... I'll pass.... :beee:
  20. I'd vote for that....
  21. I'm still waiting for my Betty Carter Select (esp. the live stuff from her label).... I'd also take some unreleased Michel Petrucciani
  22. yes it's our friends from a deriative of the Fresh Sounds label.. They also came out with the Coleman Hawkins and Eddie Lockjaw Davis 3CD sets earlier... I got both of those and ordered the Red Garland. As many problems as there are with the non-royalty issues.. these sets are very well made....
  23. I'm up for it....
