  1. Great to see the Truckers mentioned. Absolutely fantastic band who can rock anyone's ass off.
  2. Me too. Chuck -- anybody you like on tenor who's under 50?? ← I'm still interested in hearing a response.
  3. Living in Michigan I have heard his name many many many times, but never got a chance to see him perform or to hear his music. 67 is pretty young.
  4. Not that I quite agree with his arguing style, I agree with Clem to some extent. Nels Cline is very good, and he aint a bullshitter. I find him to be one the most powerful and expressive guitarists around today. His Interstellar Space tribute album was nothing short of brilliant.
  5. MY sister is a hairdresser, so I get her to do. OF course, I rarely get my hair cut as it is past my shoulder in length. Now that im out in Philly ill probably have to get it cut at an actual barbershop/salon though. Of course, I have been here since early August and havent needed one yet.
  6. 7-0 If the Bucks lose tonight that will mean that every team in the league has atleast two losses. Except the team anchored by this man:
  7. If you need to hear this music so bad, there are much better ways to do it. First off, several of those cds are available for the rock bottom price of 5.99 at yourmusic.com. Additionally, you would be amazed at the music available at public libraries. Check them out. Also, calling people assholes because they do not support music piracy is not a great idea. Especially when so many people on this board make their money off of music. I will amit my music collection is not as legal as it should be, largely because I am young and poor music fan who is relatively new to jazz as well. But I sure as hell dont solicit illegal copies of cds on messageboards, and if I need music bad enough, I find a way to pay for it. Try a job.
  8. What would be the difference if it did? You are doing the same thing.
  9. Always a great live show. Much better than his already very good albums.
  10. i decided the price tag was too high just for me to look at guitars. plus im lazy.
  11. How about that Miles Davis dude with that one quintet with Wayne Shorter and some other guys?
  12. THROW IT DOWN BIG MAN, THROW IT DOWN!!!! They should really print a book of Bill Walton phrases. They are just plain amazing. A few faves: "Robert Traylor is treating this game like a buffet line" "Robest Horry just might be the most dominant defensive post player of his era."
  13. But taking it off for a full month and then bringing it back to play a double episode right before the biggest MNF game of the season and wondering why it gets bad numbers isnt very smart. I understand ratings is important, but with the astounding amount of crap on TV, they need to focus on doing better with their marketing. Curb is VERY good. I just dont think its a concsistently brilliant as AD. Its definitely right there though. I do like that it firmly established Larry David as the true genius behind Seinfeld.
  14. Any news on the show? I might check it out tomorrow. Is it worth it?
  15. http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/11/11/t...reut/index.html Quite possibly the greatest television in history (and that is not hyperbole) looks close to extinction as Fox cuts them down to 13 episodes for this season. A show that won Emmy for best comedy, and a show the was nominated 3 times for best writing in a comedy series this year (and won) and Fox doesnt know how to market it. Atleast let it play out a little longer. Remember, Seinfeld and Cheers were both nearly axed many times when they started. This show is nothing short of phenomenal. It is the wittiest and smartest show on TV, wth incredible characters and plots. If you dont know it, I emplore you to rent season one and two on DVD. You will not be disappointed. It is utterly brilliant. I can not possibly overestimate how good it is. If Fox does cancel it, I hope another network can pick it up. Maybe FX or HBO or something.
  16. That would be right in my sell range however. I dont care how good the music is.
  17. 5-0 top 4 offense. Only undefeated team in the league.
  18. Additionally its a "Core Collection" selection in the Penguin Guide to jazz. Wish I had the extra cash for it
  19. He wasnt traded. We just couldnt afford to sign him and Sheed. Nor was he necessary with the Serbian Nightmare waiting in the wings.
  20. Just checked a few more and they have the box for Andrew Hill, Jackie Mclean, booker ervin, elmo hope, ike quebec. No don cherry though. I can smell those october conn's already! http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=21340
  21. I have still yet to have any problems with them. Although, now that Im in PA I have to pay an extra 36 cents per disc. OUTRAGEOUS! Just got Mother ship today after needing to put it at the top of my queue (which is definite must for any Conn) GREAT stuff. The Penguin guide gives it a so-so review, but Lee Morgan is Lee Morgan and Larry Young is great. Also, I was just on BMG and under Freddie Hubbard there was a little check box that said "A New Album by Freddie Hubbard is coming soon, check hear if you want an email when it arrives." Or something like that. Have you guys seen this? I remember doing it for some Dylan cds a few months back. Something to look out for.
  22. Damnit. I got my hopes up thinking the date was a week off and I could still check him out. However, its only a day off and Ill be out of town. This on top of missing Roscoe Mitchell last month.
  23. Been listening to 4/5/69 and 3/23/75. 69 is probably the first set ive heard with an acoustic guitar. Great stuff. And the 75 one is almost all instrumental. GREAT STUFF. Gotta love the archive.org
