  1. One is left wondering which transfers Jordi chose to steal, um...borrow. Everything has been remastered and available before, except for the two tracks from No Strings that didn't appear on the reissues On Broadway and In A Mellow Tone. No matter, I'll just bide my time until a peer "borrows" from Jordi and shares it with the rest of us in the public domain.
  2. To each his own, I guess.
  3. Weird. I read this thread before going to bed last night. During the night, I dreamed I went to the nightclub I worked at in the 80s to see Sonny perform. The place was empty, and the manager said the show was cancelled due to illness. I kicked myself for forgeting that I had read this thread earlier. I'll end right here, since trying to explain midgets and talking vegetables is too much at this hour of the day.
  4. Bob Stewart has made some wonderful recordings over the past 40 years. He's been featured with Arthur Blythe, Lester Bowie, Ray Anderson, Steve Turre, and many others. Check out his website: http://www.bobstewartuba.com/
  5. Imo, Armando peaked 35 years ago.
  6. Cats are smart, interesting, and a lot of fun to have around. They're also functional!
  7. I'll take honest and ethical over friendly and knowledgeable anyday.
  8. I didn't see that on their Movie Gold page. Did you get a CD-R, maybe taken from a Japanese CD? Or are these perhaps needle-drops, i.e. taken from vinyl? If you click on the individual titles in the OP's link, "[CD-R]" is the first thing you see in the description.
  9. And they're CDrs.
  10. I enjoyed their services for a couple of years, but quit some time ago because of the onslaught of budget titles from european labels with dubious masterings. It was like wading through aisles of bargain bins in the hopes of finding one or two things of interest. At my age, it's better not to waste time and instead pay a little more at amazon or itunes.
  11. Ah, Bach!
  12. Double yawn for those bashing this post-Grammy show that bashes the Grammy show.
  13. Are you thinking of specific titles that have never been reissued?
  14. And for nothing else, imo. Her hit records contain some of the most inane lyrics I've heard recently, a view shared by quite a few of my adolescent clients. If there's any truth in advertising left, her inevitable compliation will be entitled, "Katy's Greatest Tits".
  15. It would appear that you're not alone.
  16. I don't know if I'd call GaGa "a marvelous keyboardist and vocalist", but I do like some of what I've seen and heard thus far. Rather than merely "ripping off" Madonna's music, I think she's a talented artist who's picked up the torch and carried it further in terms of celebrating diversity. More power to her! Oh, and one more thing. Given your checkered history on this board, I find it ironic that you should be calling someone else a troll.
  17. The Grammys is about the industry, not the music. Always has been, always will. Imo, this annual criticism of an awards show is more nonsensical than anything the Grammys purports to be. Now if you want to talk about music, I'm all ears.
  18. With all due respect to Mr. Priester, whom I'm sure is a wonderful instructor, we're not talking about his having a chaired-position at a major university. Although Cornish has been around awhile, it's a very small college (833 students) devoted solely to the performing and visual arts, offering only bachelor's degrees to it's graduates. I doubt they have much money to speak of, and cannot rely on large alumni contribuitions to boost their revenues. Bear in mind that Berklee, a 4,000-student institution, ended it's pension plan for new employees last year in favor of a 401(K)-style retirement plan.
