  1. Woody Herman-Woody was in great form that night. Stan Kenton- It was excruciating sitting through that show. I bailed halfway through it. Buddy Rich-Buddy didn't rant and rave once that evening. It was a great show.
  2. Also the Miles Davis box sets are over there.
  3. As long as they deliver the goods age ain't nothing but a number.
  4. If your line of work obliges you to go outside in Phoenix during the summer months I can understand why you are looking for another line of work.
  5. I work at radio station KWUF AM & FM in Pagosa Springs,Colorado. I'm on the air Monday through Friday on both AM & FM at different times of the day. I also do sports play by play Football,Baseball and Currently Basketball following the local high school teams. I also do radio production as needed. It keeps me fairly busy.
  6. Mostly it's been Radio but an interesting job that I had was working at an Incense factory in West Los Angeles. The absolutely worst job I had was a brief stint in the Arizona Department of Revenue. I didn't last to long at that and it took me even less time to get over it. If I ever worked in any states Department of Revenue again I would be totally convinced that Hell does indeed exist.
  7. Congrats Johnny I hope you get some sleep.
  8. They recorded a cd on Verve called "Caravan" and they also sat in on a live cd that was recorded by Stephane Grappelli.
  9. The Village Vanguard is a place I must make a pilgramige to someday!!!
  10. Well welcome to them all living, traveling the spaceways or otherwise indifferent.
  11. Nothing else really. Back when I was a kid I used to collect baseball cards and comic books. I still bum when I think about the thousands of dollars that I just threw away. I was a kid how did i know that was all going to become so valuable.
  12. Yeah I know buisness is buisness but the whole deal sucks!!! If they ever get past their myopia it would be nice to see the Weber and Abercrombie cd's come out.
  13. A little out of my way damnit!!!!! Does anybody know if these shows will be recorded?
  14. Some interesting titles here. I know I'll be copping some of these.
  15. Pats. They're the defending champion until proven otherwise.
  16. I agree- I just got this today from yourmusic.com (only 3 days after I ordered it!! wow!)-the extra tunes from the sessions are quite "jammy", probably a good decision to leave them off the original release as they aren't all that interesting for the most part, although the bonus Treat is outstanding. And the Woodstock performances are blistering!!! My oh my they were really inspired or something that day. Carlos has a nice raunchy tone on the Woodstock Jingo I remember reading an interview with Carlos who admitted to being on LSD that day. He wasn't expecting to go on right away but they moved the bands appearance up right about the time Carlos was peaking. He said that he prayed to keep in tempo and time. In your opinion did he succeed?
  17. I was fortunate enough to see Cal not once but twice. Both shows were an absolute joy. I've enjoyed every album and cd that I have of Cal's. A few years back I purchased the vinyl of Cal's "Putting It Together" on E Bay. When I took the album out low and behold there was Cal's autograph on the sleeve. That made me twice as pleased.
  18. Hey Joe fascinating stuff. Jobim was and is one of my heroes. Thanks for the info.Good to see you.
  19. Sounds like a neat session. Hopefully it will see the light of day.
  20. Same here. Only moreso. Likewise.
  21. Jazzmoose,Jazzmoose.
  22. Which one? I love a New Perspective. I've never heard the other. The other one is "I'm Trying To Find My Way Home" it has it's moments but not as good as "New Perspective" IMO.
  23. aww, I love Whistle Stop. Another vote for "New Perspective". Since I haven't heard "Whistle Stop" though the jury is still out on that one.
  24. I came close to snagging this on BMG. When I saw Eddie Gale listed I thought "I could live with that". When I saw James Spaulding on it I said "I'll pass".
