Agree with you on the sound. Some of the CP sounds startlingly good to me. Some of the other music - the Erroll Garner for example, sounded lousy. The Dodo Marmarosa sounded fine.
Will it be under the tree, will it be under the tree??? ?
T-minus an hour and counting!
Received the Blue Note Monk for Christmas in 1985 ...
Edit: Got it!! Love the photos in the booklet.
Nambia for me too, although the past week has been sky-high due to holiday parties, going-away parties, business trips, etc. Kuwait sounds pretty good right about now!
So using the highly scientific approach of identifying which 2014 albums received the most "plays" in my itunes:
Orrin Evans - Liberation Blues
Misha Tsiganov - Artistry Of The Standard
Eric Wyatt - Borough Of Kings
Eddie Allen - Push
Will be nice to hear something live from this band:
HORACE SILVER – piano
TOM HARRELL – trumpet, flugelhorn
LARRY SCHNEIDER – tenor sax
CHIP JACKSON – bass, bass guitar
EDDIE GLADDEN – drums
