Having just listened to Tutu recently- I wouldn't call it dated. In my estimation half the material just isn't up to par. The other half is just fine, especially if you have any inclination towards late period Miles.
I like Pete Anderson's work with Dwight Yoakum and his solo disc Dogs In Heaven. Clearly this is spam but if you like alt. country/roots rock/honky tonk this might be worth checking out.
These have probably been mentioned in the various "bossa" threads but they are all very fine piano trio albums that deserve a wider audience. Airto is wonderful on these albums.
