That's really good news! I've been enjoying this one immensely, have played it at least 20 times in the last month.

Too many excellent leader dates for me to pick a favorite. As a sideman however, I would highly recommend Stanley Turrentine's Hustlin'. Kenny totally locks in with Shirley Scott and the results are a clinic in creating soulful grooves.

I'm very surprised no one has mentioned this one yet but Herbie's Chameleon (15+) also came immediately to mind when is saw this thread.

First thing that came to mind was "Orange Was the Color of Her Dress, Then Silk Blue"- Mingus (approx. 18 min.)

Keef- Hate It When You Leave from Main Offender

I liked his first two solo albums quite a bit (Talk Is Cheap and Main Offender). There not masterpieces by any means but the grooves are very strong and the players are top notch as you point out. Speaking of solo albums, I've actually been listening to Mick's solo album Wandering Spirit lately, it holds up pretty well. Much better than critics give it credit for. But I digress...

That's mine as well. The local AOR station (WXRT 93.1 Chicago) played this quite often when I was becoming interested in music.
