Cool Struttin' is the album that got me into Sonny. The album photo is arresting; that's what good packaging is about. I think Alfred must have known that. More than that the title song is catchy.
Scott emailed me today that they are temporarily out of the Fitzgerald Webb set, in case anyone else besides me is waiting on the set. They're expecting it in approximately two weeks.
The set is also on the Running Low list.
Can't see springing for this box set, at that price, although it might be a good Xmas present. At any rate I'm happy with the mono box version. Not my favorite Beatles album anyway. Much prefer Revolver and Rubber Soul.
What seems to be happening is what's happened to other hobbies: no kids! I don't mean that there aren't kids playing jazz but that there are no kids collecting jazz or interested in jazz (or so it seems) not to mention that it's us oldsters who still buy cds, which are slowly disappearing.
Just catching up with this thread and talked to Scott. Just submitted an order for the Fitzgerald and Chick Webb set. Will order the JPJ set when it's available.
