Happy Birthday to King Ubu!

Happy Birthday Flurin! -
I'd recommend Junior's Cookin from the Fantasy label. Really cookin' cd (no pun intended). Wasn't terribly crazy about the Steeple Chase ones but You Leave Me Breathless with Valery Ponomarev is really top notch.

It can be extremely annoying. It seems to happen sometimes in business where people are a few minutes late for a call. I'm guilty of that myself on occasion and I usually just make appointments, unlike my wife who is always 15 to 20 minutes early. It drives her crazy that I do things at the last second. It's hard to tolerate people however who do this constantly, especially if they are more than 15 minutes late. We have friends who never show up on time so we tell them to show up 15 minutes sooner than they need to and that seems to work out well.

I wouldn't mess around. These things get worse, not better.

little interest in the Oliver Nelson?
Brad replied to tranemonk's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I recently picked up the Jimmy Smith Bashin', not knowing part of it was on the Mosaic and liked what I heard so based on that I may now pick up the Mosaic. -
They show a new Charles Kynard CD coming out on Mainstream. Don't know if that's been discussed but something to look forward to.

I think we're partially there tonight. I just hope that with this incident behind us, that's not the end of it and that other transgressors are not let to business as usual.

So you know where I'm coming from, I've been an Imus fan for over 20 years. However, lately, he has been getting kind of boring, what with all the politics and the country music, and I didn't listen to him as much lately. But this is just fucking ridiculous. What he said was wrong but he said things like this for a long time. If you want to say it's all wrong, yes you're right. However, he apologized profusely and he did a lot of good things, helping to build the children's cancer wing for Hackensack Hospital, the Tomorrow's Children Fund and the Ranch for Kids with Cancer. It's a sad reflection that a moron like Sharpton can assume the mantle of leadership for getting him fired. How about Sharpton apologizing for what he did to the Duke players? Forgiveness in this country seems to have gone out the window. We wouldn't be realistic if we didn't acknowledge that all the people he skewered over the years like that idiot Matt Lauer smelled blood in the water and used the opportunity for payback. Sad day for this country in my opinion.

I'll be preordering that Cohn et al bad boy in a couple of minutes. -
The LP version is a lot more common than the CD set so prices don't normally go crazy there.

I just took a look at the completed auctions and except for the Hardee set, nothing's really out of the ordinary. Now, that is a hard set get in Cd, much easier in vinyl to get, but $1,300, that's a little absurd. Wish I had the set to sell.
-
For transactions up to $3,000, it's 2.9 percent, plus thirty cents. There's been a lot of discussion about this Bidder 1, etc. That kicks in when an auction hits $200. Also, unlike before, you can't see all the auctions a biddier is currently bidding on or the auctions a bidder hasn't won. You could do that in the past but now you only get to see completed auctions that a bidder has won. It's definitely not a move for the better but there may have been some privacy concerns.

I don't have Free but listened to a couple of clips and liked what I heard so I need to get that. The Philadelphians is also a fine cd. If you can, go for the Mosaic. Expensive but worth it.

Boof Bonser is one that stands out. If I were this kid, I'd change my name, at least the first name. Sounds like a name from the comic strips.

just wanted to ask about these (especially the one with George Coleman looks tempting)... thank you! Both very good.

I can't imagine buying anything from this label. That was a 70s phase I don't need to (or want to) revisit.

best place to buy BIRDS EYES cds?
Brad replied to chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez's topic in Offering and Looking For...
I thought Cadence had a lot of these, if not the whole series. -
Something I'd die to get but that's life. You can't get everything you want.

I'm no expert but every one of the Clay albums is prized.

I'm very late to this party but I don't really care for this development for the simple reason that it may dilute what is Mosaic is all about, not to mention energy and resources. Regarding the tradeamark question, I'd be surprised is Concord doesn't have a problem with this as the central question may be confusion in the minds of the customer. I think there could be a case there. As I was reading this thread, the Kenny G thought came to me before I actually got there. I don't see this as a positive development, not a negative development, just not a positive one.

how hard to find used Bird Mosaic?
Brad replied to chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez's topic in Offering and Looking For...
Aric, I don't know if you would like the Mosaic. Most of it is just Bird playing, not the whole song and the sound is not the greatest. It's mostly for Bird addicts (include myself there). -
Guess they're still working on it.
