  1. I will definitely get the box. I believe that their approach is to list a set when it’s available to ship. I’m not sure what you mean they’re not the same anymore but, then again, what is; they e adjusted to the times.
  2. I think I saw this discussed once on Hoffman.
  3. If you sell a product that does not comply with the laws of the country in which it is sold (even though it’s legal to do so in the country of manufacture), theoretically the seller has liability. However, since we're talking about a limited number of CDs economically it doesn’t make any sense to try to stop sales. Obviously it would be a different story if we were talking about a product that sells in the thousands,
  4. In my original email to him I asked him about a Lee box but he didn’t address it and I didn’t follow up with him on it.
  5. While talking to Scott at Mosaic today via email about some matters I asked about forthcoming Mosaics and he mentioned they would be issuing a Joe Henderson set. He didn’t say when it would be issued or give me any other details nor did I ask.
  6. While talking to Scott about some other matters today, he said this set was coming out this year but he said as follows: “You might also want to ask if people have any source material for the Black & White sessions since we are taking them all from 78s and I still have some wants. People can contact me via my email if they would like a list of what I need.” So if anyone can help, please contact him. His email is scott@mosaicrecords.com
  7. Hope you start to feel better soon. Anyone hear from Dmitry to see how he’s doing?
  8. In the US, the general rule for musical compositions created and published or registered before 1978 is that the copyright lasts 75 years from the date the composition was published with a copyright notice or on the date of the registration if it was registered in unpublished form. In addition for pre 1978 compositions, if the copyright was still in effect on October 27, 1998, the length of copyright was extended another 20 years, thereby providing a total of 95 years in protection.
  9. I found a copy of this LP recently.
  10. I saw this cd in my weekly email from Dusty Groove but by the time I got to the website, it was gone. Found it on Discogs. Incredible lineup: Dizzy, Max Roach, Stan Getz, Jackie McLean, Phil Woods, Bags, Hank Jones and Percy Heath. And equally good music.
  11. King Curtis’ Sweet Soul has only been issued as a LP. Some very good supporting musicians.
  12. I had the Count Basie one years ago. Got rid of it. I’ve had a number of PD cds and I’m getting rid of them slowly and surely.
  13. A long time since l listened to it. Foundational.
  14. I’ve just started to read this.
  15. This is the JazzTimes one. They had the Monk issue as number 1. https://jazztimes.com/features/lists/year-in-review-the-10-best-historical-recordings-of-2020/nggallery/image/1-theloniousmonk-copy/#view
  16. Dan Morgenstern wrote the book.
  17. There is a chance (although I don’t know how good of a chance) that Mosaic may still have some. When they held an open house a few years ago they had a large inventory of booklets and I was able to purchase a couple of the older ones. You could contact Scott Wenzel at Mosaic and ask him. Even if they don’t have any to spare perhaps they could make you a copy.
  18. He has some other articles on Bird that I haven’t read yet.
  19. Courtesy of the Jazz Gazette, here is a post from the blog of Kevin Sun analyzing several performances of Confirmation between 1949-1951. I’m sure you’ll get more out if it you’re a musician but it’s still worthwhile if you’re not. Charlie Parker on "Confirmation" (1949–1951)
  20. Thanks for the info and recommendation. Shipping from Europe to US appears to be expensive so I’ve bookmarked these items for a future order.
  21. It sold for $1358. Hope the buyer was a label that will make it available to the public.
  22. Darn iPad. I changed it once but it changed back. Should have read varitone.
  23. Thanks for the feedback, especially the track list. Any thoughts about this recording though.
  24. CD Japan has a cd listed that came out in November called Pardon My Bop by Rob Agerbeek/Ruud Brink Quartet. Pardon My Bop Does anybody know anything about this date?
  25. From what I’ve read about this session, he uses a baritone on every track.
