  1. My collection of Bethlehem titles is not extensive, but I agree 100% with the above!
  2. I recall there used to be occasional concerts at her "Deep Listening Space" in Kingston. I meant to go, but never did...not sure if there have been many recently.
  3. RIP. Very sad and a surprise to me. Hadn't seen news reports, but Rod S. posted something on another thread last night. Agreed.
  4. Happy birthday! Happiest of returns, old bean! However, being an abstemious cove, I can't have a drink in your honour. [Couple of my favourite phrases gleaned from reading all the P.G. Wodehouse novels, so thus adopting Anglicised spelling.]
  5. Calgary 45. Earliest I've ever managed to enter!
  6. Damn...I was happy to see O'Brien's book come out, but now I think it was somewhat of a final statement. [The post quoted above referred to H O'B's recent book. Hod looks rather ill in the 80th birthday photo on his website.]
  7. Very sad news. RIP. When I bought my first O'Brien recording on Reservoir, I was pleasantly shocked to see it was the same guy I recalled from "Three Trumpets", "J R Monterose" and "Guitar Groove", after a long recording hiatus. He became one of my favorite pianists.
  8. I once saw Eighth Blackbird live, and they're a terrific ensemble. Their repertoire can be rather, let's say, variable, but it is adventurous.
  9. I can't make this, but FYI if you're near the Mid-Hudson Valley, NY: Roswell Rudd's 81st birthday celebration, Marlboro, NY
  10. Damn. RIP. Mose was a favorite because of his lyrics before I became a jazz enthusiast. I once saw him live at the now-defunct Bradley's in NYC (iirc).
  11. Best wishes!
  12. Regrettably late, but best wishes anyway!
  13. Looks that way. For instance, I found track listings of the Henderson on the Italian Universal site.
  14. Doesn't seem like that recent a development. I live in somewhat of a "snow belt" in upstate NY, and the gray Honda CR-V, in particular, has been ubiquitous, omnipresent,..., (whatever) for quite a few years.
  15. Good! Looks like you might have gotten the last copy. Here are a couple of good reviews of the old Cage/Feldman twofer: lafolia.com year's best another from same site, + review of Cage prepared piano (scroll down)
  16. I bought the twofer of Cage's One^5 and Feldman's Triadic Memories on the Offseason Productions label when it was first released. It's outstanding and I highly recommend it! At the very top of all the Feldman and Cage recordings I own.
  17. Couple of things at a film festival (Woodstock, NY): This South African film is outstanding. This was also quite good.
  18. Thanks! Very thoughtful (considering that I haven't been posting often) and much appreciated.
  19. Finally got a copy of this (Isoardi's Dark Tree). Dusty Groove got more copies in last week and I managed to procure one.
  20. I had doubts about this (it's a Disney film), but figured I had to see it because I play chess and lived in E. Africa for 2 years. It's pretty good!
  21. Good find! That does look interesting.
  22. Frankie Yankovic "The Polka King" Weird Al Yankovic Alan (Uncle Al, the Kiddies' Pal) Sues
