Habs fan, can't say that i relate to the current fans, people who riot because they win a first round series, it is just plain pathetic. Would also cheer for the Expos, still have memories of my father bringing me to the Big O, it was a lot of fun especially when the was competetive in the late 70s and early 80s. Was a big sport fan as a young lad, knew almost all the names of every NHL and MLB players, as soon as there was sport on the television, for the younger people it was before cable, I usually was in front of the set -
Same here, welcome aboard

What live music are you going to see tonight?

Saw Charles Gayle solo a few days ago, not a very gifted technically player but with still plenty of soul, he played a few pieces on the tenor and then switched to the piano for the balance of the evening. Typical free jazz with afro-american influences, ended the gig singing Amazing Grace. It felt like going to church. Thank you mister Gayle for the beautiful evening. -
Best wishes, he was supposed to go to Montreal later this month.

At least, I got the chance to see him live last year, show was not memorable except it started something like 3 hours late as he was MIA for a good part of the day doing God knows what. On more positive news his truly last album I'm new here was a great one. RIP

As I recall, Amazon had eight copies of this when I posted on the 16th. Today they are down to their last one at this price. Yes, but: "We are not able to ship this item to your default shipping address." If it's from a market seller, it does happen that they don't ship to Canada. -

What mostly changed is the perception of those following it, without the web there was way less cynicism regarding the business, also at the time they still were pretending to be a sport so they had to adapt in a way. In he 80s, wrestling was to real sports was a bit like the Rocky movies to real boxing while afterwards the industry turned more into a Saturdat Night live skit with more and more time devoted to promos and less to the in ring performances. Which eventually made guys go for higher spots for the little time they were in the ring. It worked to a certain point but it gave way to guys who would have not cut it back then. Other thing that created a big change was the disparition of territories, with them a guy could carry a similar schtick for many years, with the WWF going national a character could get burned fast Bobby Heenan was funny as hell as a commentator, he did great work with the late Gorilla Monsoon. Here are a few quotes from the Brain North Dakota State. What do you have to do there to graduate? Milk a cow with your left hand After a mexcan wrestler was unmasked Now when he delivers pizza, everyone will know who he is." Brain: "Do you know what Koko B. Ware's mom's name is?" Gorilla: "What?" Brain: "Tupper" Gorilla: (Referring to a match in progress in Texas) "Well, we'll be right back with a fight that's taking place very near where a big fight occurred many years ago." Brain: "You know why there were only 220 Mexicans at the Alamo? Gorilla: "...why?" Brain: "They only had one car." Gorilla: (referring to a sign in the crowd) Natural Disasters Rule. How about that? Bobby: If she'd been at home doing the dishes she wouldn't have time to make stupid cards like that. Bimbo. Bobby: Did you see Tatanka today? Gorilla: Yes I didBobby: Did you say hi to him the right way? Gorilla: (Groaning) Hows that? Bobby: Heyhowareya! Heyhowareya! Gorilla: Will you STOP! -

Not only he had a great schtick and kept to it with a few minor revamps but he actually was to fun to watch in the ring, . FYI, the lady who played his valet back then in his WWF years Elisabeth died a few years ago from an overdose, these people really have a short life. -

In a way, the mono is complementary to the Stereo as some of the mixes are quite different than the stereo versions, you won't regret it. -

Already have all the Sharon Jones, gonna see Lee Fields during the Jazz Fest, am more and more interested to see him Not a complete neophyte regarding funk, it's just that they were a lot of products with unfamiliar names especially the ones by state so I was wondering if someone could tip me regarding these, so thanks. While ordering the excellent James Brown single series on Amazon I found a few compilations that you could find relatively cheap in some cass on Amazon UK or the US one. Was wondering if any of you purchased and can recommend these sets. Among them the funk series by state I guess Florida Funk: 1968-1975 [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED] Midwest Funk: Funk 45's From Tornado Alley Carolina Funk: First In Funk The samples looked tasty. Among the items I found that looked interesting were these Funk Soul Sisters [iMPORT] Also there was a series called Funk Drops that looked interesting so anybody can give me a two thumbs up or are they other compilations that could be worth it, oh yes before someone asks for it I already have the big brown box What it is.

Black Saint/Soul Note Box Sets

Weirdly only the Murray I care little about. -
Before my neighbors do an Arabian spring on me, will have to get some headphones and cut down on music out of my regular speakers, have an eye on a Grado, hopefully I'll be able to order them from a US store as the price difference is humongous since I don't listen to MP3, should have little problems regarding the sound, here's my dilemna, Grado does sell a 15 feet extension cable, however for the way my house is designed, it's a bit short, if I buy another brand with the proper lenght, will I lose some quality in the process, or the brand of the cable is just an excuse to take more money out of impressionable consumers ?

A lot of fascinating things can happen during a visit to the grocery start as I was getting in the lineup in the less than twelve articles line, there was a dude with at least 100 bags of different pasta and was in the process of putting them all near the cash register while no people working for the store bothered telling him that it was actually the fast lane, so I had to ingform him myself that he was not in the proper line and he was stalling us, he quietly said he was not aware of it and started putting his stuff back in the cart , while looking at all that pasta I had to mention him, you must be hoping for a special on tomato sauce While I was still going to the cash register, I noticed a dude waiting at the extremity and an item near the cash register on display for everyone to see related to the gentleman , the item in question was a tampon box that he was trying to get returned, he was told to wait as only one person in the whole store had the power to decide whether they could accept the tampon box. This event made think of two things, i did not know there were such powerful people inside a grocery store who had such major input on important decisions like whether the store could accept a previously bought tampon box, I'm sure his or her mother must be proud. The other thoughts that came to me while looking at this poor fellow , as I was poundering about still being single and the advantage of having a spouse or not, I felt that being single is a good thing if I have to avoid these kind of situations. So for the ladies who will read this, if you are the kind of gal who sends back your spouse, boyfriend whatever to return idems about female hygiene, don't even think of contacting me in the hope we could ever become an item, we have all to draw the line eventually, that's where I draw mine. -

There is something ironic in the fact that out of the three games played between the two rivals in the last few weeks, the poorest was won by the Catalan side and the best game was won by Madrid. -

What an amazing goal indeed, regarding Wenger I think they keep him there because Arsenal is in the business of developping players and competitive while keeping a reasonnable budget, which is what Wenger does well if you are looking for a team to take "the next step" don't hold your breath, they probably never will
