  1. It was just a cheap, short term solution to get him up and running again. Moot, since arm will not accept standard cartridges.
  2. When I saw, "3 bills to rebuild the cartidge" I thought, "get a new $300 TT that will sound better anyway". What's the deal with the arm/cartridge combo? Can't other brand cartridges fit on the arm? This is really weird, but I do not know B&O TT's. Now, if you like what you have, keep it. But....I'd like to see you audition, in home, a $300-$500(Rega or Project) TT set-up and then decide. And...should you quit vinyl, I'll take your old blues LP's. I just took a quick look at the B&O arm/cartidges, and it does not look like you could pop a nice sounding, budget Grado on there.
  3. I have no idea why? Snobs? Turrentine may have been in the same boat.
  4. I saw the avatar and started cracking up and now I see there is a thread devoted to it. Saw the movie again a short time ago. I should just buy it. It's so funny because it's actually quite realistic, if you know what I mean.
  5. Sonics tie the Spurs(2-2) without Lewis!!
  6. Lee Morgan: Candy Too tough, I quit.
  7. What they said!
  8. LMAO..There ya go Jazz Kat..Get off the puter and go get a Brownie.
  9. Vinyl? Springsteen: Devils & Dust (2LP) Sonny Red: Out Of The Blue (Blue Note/Classic Records LP)
  10. I've returned 2 copies of Ellington: Piano In The Foreground for noise(10-20 clicks/pops). And an Ellington/Armstrong which was even worse. Have all 3 Griffin titles Classic has done in this series. All good, but I like 'Introducing" best. The one in this series to avoid is Morgan: Vol. 3 (BN 1557). HF distortion is bad baby, bad. Keeping my nice JPN pressing.
  11. Wasn't this just made up for an in the studio date to bring about the feeling of a live date?
  12. I know what you mean, but I like her voice. Her song writing is what really draws me to her. Great song writing on World Without Tears. One of the best in recent memory. Another voice I like, that many do not, is Linda Thompson(Fasionably Late).
  13. Does the hum go away when the computer is away from the TT? The computer may be too close to the Pre-amp(phono stage), not the TT. Is the hum low in volume or frequency? Or both? What clandy44 mentions may work for ground loop hum, which is usually loud and low in frequency(60 cylcles?). Does the hum get louder as you turn up the volume? More details if you can....
  14. All This Useless Beauty is a fav of mine. Just getting into, and liking, Delivery Man and Clarksdale Sessions.
  15. On Blue Note Records. I'll be picking it up shortly. I've heard it's pretty good. Better song selection and production than his last one for Blue Note.
  16. As I've said before I'm really liking these. Have quite a few now and will be ordering more. Usually get them from Red Trumpet during one of their $4 off each, with free shipping sales. RT is also cool on returns which can happen with these hard to press 200 gram, flat edge slabs. I have not had to return any of the Blue Note titles. I love the way they sound. Less compression and loudness(thank god). A few still have issues with the HF distortions that are on the tapes, but much less then other reissues. I can actually turn 'em up and relax into some of them. For some reason it took me a while to really warm to these, but now I'm hooked. Latest releases: Sonny Red: Out of the Blue Horace Silver: 6 Pieces of Silver Lou Donaldson: Lou Takes Off Benny Green: Back On The Scene Jackie McLean: Swing, Swang, Swingin'
  17. Classic Records 200 gram mono reissue. Just ordered Classic's Jackie McLean: Swing, Swang, Swingin' and they have just released: Sonny Red: Out of the Blue Horace Silver: 6 Pieces of Silver Lou Donaldson: Lou Takes Off Benny Green: Back On The Scene Just when I thought I was caught up...
  18. I'm still laughing at your comment that pros do not use tubes.
  19. Sorry to see this get a bit ugly. I've found dealing with Dmitry a pleasure. In one of my dealings with Dmitry I screwed up, and he handled it with humor and dignity. Also, out of the blue, he is sending me an album he thought I might like. I may have posted what Dmitry did if I got more than a couple 'offers'. Then again, I may have reacted the same towards his post regarding offers. Tough call...anyone want a mulligan?

  21. The Complete Pacific Jazz Small Group Recordings Of Art Pepper (Mosaic MR3-105) LP
  22. Makes no sense. Crazy!! Here are some recent ending prices for this set: $102 $108 $81 $96 $103 $102 $102 $159 $79 $61
  23. This is the only potential drawback. Paypal's 2.9% + .30 sounds like it will be cheaper if business stays the same.
  24. The solo bass intro to Tenderly is jaw dropping!!
  25. Hey, I have the original. The LP is in better shape than I am.
