  1. Cannonball and Roy look good. Very kind of you!
  2. He's in town this Sunday-trying to get there. I like Evolution and the HR download sounds excellent!
  3. I've got a copy I'll sell for the same price in CONUS if anyone is still interested. I would grade mine as a conservative M- EDIT: The cd is not where I thought it was so better hold off until I locate it. If you're interested, send me a message and I'll let you know when I locate it.
  4. Very good read and thanks. I was fortunate enough to see his Unity band in a relatively small setting last year and it was an incredible experience. I've seen PM since the late 70s off and on and thought his playing that night was the best I've ever seen him play. I also highly recommend the Unity BR; it captures the band at its peak and is superbly recorded with an excellent surround mix. PM is truly a thoughtful musician!
  5. State Street Sweet another winner
  6. I've always been on the fence as far as her vocal abilities.
  7. Disc one of that set remains a favorite of all my many mosaic sets. I don't think it has ever been released separately aside from the original issue but I may be wrong.
  8. downloaded the 96/24 HR version. Will enjoy it this evening!

  10. video pulled
  11. Good for a fan but not a huge fan of Mingus?
  12. I use Harmony universal remotes. Pretty easy to set up and will generally be all you need once you configure the tv. Check the AV forums and look for your model for lots of tips for setting the picture but allow a couple hundred hours of play before finalizing settings.
  13. first single gets a C with this grader. A Rolie composition that he's released previously, the groove is there but the lyrics are really trite.
  14. Great idea. I never liked Ligterwood's vocals very much and when I saw them side by side at an 80's Santana show, Walker blew him off the stage.
  15. These new releases will be available as HR downloads as well. I may go that way.
  16. The Getz releases look good as well!
  17. snowing hard in the Washington DC area but so far no power loss but it ain't over until it's over!
  18. I like Fatha's Day-an Earl Hines songbook. I had him sign it for me when I saw him in 2004. He was very nice person. RIP
  19. For NYE, we are planning to go see a local favorite Joe Maher with B3 legend Bill Heid (though I think he will be playing piano only) and Steve Novosel on bass at the Chart House in Alexandria VA. No cover!
  20. bought a nused br copy-looking forward to seeing this.
  21. There's great music here but the packaging was terrible, IMO. Book fell apart and I put all the discs in jewel cases to keep them from getting scratched.
  22. Last night was Chucho Valdez and his tribute to Irakere. Words fail me. A brilliant performance and I don't use that word very often. If you get a chance to see this gig, don't miss it.
  23. I think he does a fine job with the Cookers and I like his work on the Dexter mosaic set even if his solos are a bit too long. A very nice gentleman as well. I hope his health is ok.
  24. RIP to a great artist. I treasure the performances I saw.
