  1. that was quick!
  2. She and Riddle had a long affair that (like most affairs) went nowhere and hurt Clooney deeply. One reason Love is a great recording I think. I recently picked up the Japanese remaster of Blue Rose and while the original sounded good, this is significantly better, IMO.
  3. Joey redeemed himself when we saw him with Cobb and Coryell last year. All in great form!
  4. very pleased with my Wes set. Buy with confidence!
  5. Eliane Elias-The Hamilton-Washington DC. April 14th 7:30. This should be an excellent venue for her. We will be there.
  6. nice and inspiring story-thanks!
  7. Total Wow! I've seen him with various bands over 35 years and this may have been the best yet. Venue was very nice with excellent acoustics as well-Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.
  8. Pat Metheny tonight in Annapolis, MD
  9. Andrew Hill mosaic available on our sale thread.
  10. Happy Birthday to one of my favorite jazz artists!!
  11. [/quote I guess I just wondered to what extent MG was dismissing the idea that Santana could have been (meaningfully) influenced by Coltrane. I think that he and I differ greatly on that. As I said, I see and understand the distinction between that scenario and first-person absorption (and appreciate the importance of the latter). When I asked MG is he was (ever) a musician, that was a sincere question, by the way. Seemed relevant to me. I don't do as much book reading as he does, so we're definitely different in more ways than one in terms of how we form opinions. I really brought up the whole Santana-influenced-by-Trane thing just to challenge the rather narrow-minded (not to mention unfair) notion that Carlos is to be considered and labeled as yet another "rock" guitarist who plays "rock" guitar, and therefore ought to be kept on that "rock" shelf and not considered for more interesting recipes besides "rock" soup (sheesh, I must be getting hungry again).
  12. Mine arrives today. Count down tonight! Thanks for the tip. a great buy and beautifully remastered. A++
  13. I bought the Malo box set which I enjoy-very well mastered as well. To me, they suffered from constant personnel changes including vocalists and "borrowing" Carlos licks at times. Enjoyable listening all the same. Borboletta probably my favorite Santana album. It was mixed in quad so a surround release would be nice but I doubt it will ever happen.
  14. Ok not great. Too sanitized for my taste and few truly callous comments.
  15. Any thoughts on the Van Cliburn complete album collection box? i saw one at a good price.
  16. Mine arrives today. Count down tonight! Thanks for the tip.

  22. Well, one Cooker is interested!
  23. The Cookers would be perfect. Sounds like a kickstarter project to me unless a label will fund it.
