  1. I've bought 2 items on Audiogon. No problems at all.

    Woody Shaw

ordered this today from the International Trumpet Guild - $16 with free shipping (to Australia!!) I'm tempted to get the "Moontrane" 32 Jazz CD that's currently for sale in the For Sale section - one of the few WS CD's I don't have -> one of his best & quite elusive to source at a decent price I enable you on Moontrane. One of my Shaw favorites!
  3. I'm gonna show that picture to my wife next time I get the "how many cds do you need" question.
  4. pm with ? on Native Dancer?
  5. I heard a couple of pieces from their latest recording and liked them enough to order the cd today. They started at USC and are based out of LA. Interesting compostions that incorporate a number of styles. Pat Metheny a listed influence.
  6. Best band you..... still one of my favorites
  7. I like Heid but he's a different flavor then JoeyD-much more laid back style.
  8. saw this show with Larry Coryell et. al in DC recently and thought it a great set of music with all musicians engaged and in fine form. I will say that I've seen less than stellar sets from Joey D but not this night!
  9. Jimi Hendrix purple box set. not jazz but I am groovin to it.
  10. listened to the cd yesterday-excellent! I think JD was playing a B3.
  11. one of the best shows I've seen at Blues Alley period. All musicians were in top form and having a ball. $35 plus a $12 per person minimum and well worth it. Set was almost 2 hours
  12. will be at the 10PM show Friday the 27th. Anyone else going?
  13. is the Vaughn box worth picking up?
  14. pm on Getz-Dynasty
  15. yep. Canta Brasil is nice as well.
  16. probably Borboletta-Santana in HS. Early college favs were Intensity-Charles Earland and the Crusaders' albums. Pat Metheny as well. Stan Kenton's big band at an outdoor festial before his accident made a monster impression on me as a freshman.
  17. may try to get to Roy Hargrove and opening act Marshall Keys who is a terrific player in his own right. June 6 at The Hamilton (very nice space). Anyone else attending shows?
  18. all music gets dissed a lot but I find it useful. Yes, some reviewers are better than others but the price is right.
  19. Nationals keep cruising along. One can only imagine what will happen when all their injured players return. Gio Gonzalez is the best pitcher in baseball right now and then there's Strasburg.
  20. Hamels and their fans are bums! Hitting a 19 year old rookie and cheering Werth for his injury. Philly a disgrace to the game. Go Nats!!
  21. Great music-well worth it even if, like moi, you don't care for compressed music.
  22. I'm considering purchasing an automated ripping station for my 4,000+ cd collection. Most products are for professional use and cost well over $1000. The Acronova Nimbie NB11 pictured below is less than $500 and allows you to load up to 100 discs at a time. Most likely I would sell it on eBay or a computer/audio board after ripping my collection. great idea but you really only need it once. I wonder if you can lease them?
